  • Hello All,

    Today I have,

Been to work, it felt as though the rest of the world was off.
Made a chicken pie from scratch, delicious.
Ordered a new baby gift for a friend from Etsy, although slightly annoyed as there hasn't been a confirmation from the seller, I understand thing slow down at this time of year but..
Money wise doing ok, pay day doesn't move for and I spread shopping from Dec.
Off to the Panto tomorrow, and will have lunch in town as treat with DD.
I have ordered food and it needs collecting tomorrow and Christmas eve.

    Morning all :)
I was up before 5 this morning because I started coughing and didn't want to disturb OH. I may well need a nap later!
Other plans, such as they are:
HG fruit from freezer for breakfast instead of bought fresh fruit :) (done, early, I know, but I have been up for ages and was hungry)
    Check banks (done)
Fold clean washing on airer. At least one item needs ironing (curses!) will do it so it isn't hanging about Folded most of it and put it away, but not done the ironing yet :(
Another load of washing Well, it has got as far as the machine...
At least one of the necessary dog walks :)OH did both today, short ones, as it has been raining, and the dog doesn't like the rain
Need to clean out the microwave Done
Rest of quiche for dinner Done
No plans for spending or going anywhere today, apart from the postbox to post RM surveys letters. I will keep my germs to myself! NSD :)
Maybe make up the gingerbreads from the dough I made yesterday, which helpfully sits in the fridge until I am ready to roll it out and bake it :)Not done
Try to do some cleaning / tidying / decluttering Not done, apart from a superficial kitchen clean...
Look at budget spreadsheet for next year  Done
Wrap last few presents :)Not done
Check for surveys A few for onepoll

OH has his GP appointment today (at last) to hopefully find out the results of all the tests he has had for his back problem, and hopefully suggestions for a way forward :T

Dawn, I hope that your dh got on ok at the drs today.

OH has a nasty slipped disc, and will need intensive physiotherapy, and if that doesn't work, surgery  Fingers crossed though, as he has been improving slowly on his own, and can even go for short walks now :)

I went back to bed this morning so haven't got much done. I am feeling a little bit better now, so hopefully tomorrow will be more productive!
  • Back from Prague, had a fantastic time even though the plane was delayed coming home bec of the fog. Didn't get home till 2am, by then me and DD were wide awake so sorted out the luggage and dirty washing-3am bed:eek:

1LL I was ever so sorry to read about your grandmother:(
DawnW here's hoping that OH back will respond to physio and he won't need surgery
Foxgloves I've never been called a stuffing ball before:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:!!!!

Hoping that everyone feeling under the weather, not feeling great, feels better soon. Came back from Prague with abit of a cough and abit chesty but its not getting worse

Cooked the Christmas gammon today (YS and stuck in the freezer earlier in the year:T) as we have relatives arriving/visiting tomorrow.
Gave me chance to update my spends book .Haven't bought masses as mostly at my mum's (will drop some gammon off to her tomorrow as I'm out with bestie for the day-already planned before family decided to visit and if my mum hadn't of rang them I would have still been none the wiser and they would have turned up to an empty house, but will see them when I get back. Can already feel the usual family fight beginning to brew:()
Have bought some presents for next year in the early sales, safely tucked away and well within budget. also managed to use points/last of a gift card/DD's uni discounts:) getting them
Posted a birthday card today using the last of my survey stamps-also received the diary very handy. Have one parcel to send but reluctant to do so until I get my next batch of survey stamps
Grocery shopping all done, didnt get much-mainly for the cats and made use of the cheap veg offers:cool:
Well off to Bedfordshire for me,goodnight everyone!

    Morning all,
Looking forward to a busy day of festive baking.
*Quick load of laundry churning - 30 mins at 30 degs. Love that cheap speedy cycle, which our old washer didn't have.
    *Bake sourdough loaf.
*Make 2 types of stuffing - my useful breadcrumbs bag is already out of the freezer.
*Make mini-pork pies. No need to buy Trex - have a use-it-up half pack in fridge leftover from summer & it is still just in date.
*Bake cantuccini biscuits. Never made before. Serving for dessert on Christmas Day with dessert wine. All ingredients from Aldi. Their baking range is pretty good these days.
*Read my book (beautiful hardback edition from charity shop).
*mr f fretting that he wishes he'd taken the turkey out of the freezer last night, so it's squatting upstairs in our bedroom to defrost. Looks most incongrous.....& a bit of a passion-killer, lol......but I am thinking of all those scrummy useful leftovers!
*Still using up a nice lippy which had 'run out' with a lipbrush. Why chuck a third of the product in the bin when you can use it?
OK, must go & get sourdough mixed, chuck laundry in general direction of heated airer & get my pinny on for baking.
Have a good day all. Ziggy, I am waving at you......hope things are ok.
    F xx

    Morning all :)
Up at 5 again, after very little sleep due to breathing problems :( DD2, her OH and the baby have a sickness bug and little 4 year old GD still has the cold that I caught from her (she is over the bug, which she brought back from nursery). I am just too tired to take her :o, so am hoping the in laws do - her sis in law has offered. What a rotten time of year for this to happen :(

Anyway, I will try to get some things done today:
Post office with RM surveys things and an ebay parcel (which I haven't wrapped yet). I will walk as the roads are a nightmare, and a walk might clear my head a bit. Need a few bits in Boots too, will use points to buy them!

Load of washing, peg it outside if it doesn't rain, airer if it does.
    Roll out and bake gingerbreads
Make 'French bread pizzas' out of stale half loaf, this will do for lunch :)
    Sort out fridge
    Brother arriving today
    Mend OH's trousers
    Sausages and mash for dinner

Hope we don't get the sick bug!

  • Good morning everyone, I hope that it is okay that I join in on this thread. Im new, and I will read through all your posts properly but have to go to work soon.

I need support, I really do because we have lots of debt and I want it gone! 2018 will be the year to sort things out!

So where do I start? Well I will tomorrow get a running total but its about 12k we owe. We have a mortgage etc... a 2yr old daughter. There are things we could cancel, change etc but we will concentrate on the little steps and of course contracts with things don't help! But here goes I will see if I can start money saving etc...

    Saturday - today
    - Working 2pm - 10pm
    - see if any 10p goodies in 'staff shopping' to help stores for 2018
    - bring own food for break at work
    - search for free samples online for my 'play quilt/toys to make box of stuff' - I order fabric and curtain samples and I am going to sew them all together!

    Merry Christmas xx
