Thank you. It feels good to be back. I did seem to get things done and then had a really bad time. But I am back now and ready to stay as I need to finish paying my car loan off as well as saving hard. Not sure what for yet as I am deciding my next move but I do need to save as I’m not getting any younger!
  • Hope today has gone well. I find a list always helps, if nothing else than to remind me of those little jobs that are so easy to forget!

So today went a bit better than the day before. I woke up early, reconciled YNAB but then fell back to sleep. However, I got up, got the two youngest sorted and took them to youngest’s dad for a few hours.

When I got back I managed to paint one and half fence panels in the garden and have designed and sewn a new cushion cover. I am trying to design and sew a new cushion a day at the moment. I am using recycled fabrics, so shirts, jeans, dresses etc to try and use up some bits I have got laying around. The cushion covers are all one offs and I am hoping to sell them. One has been sent to someone on Instagram who is going to promote my work hopefully. I do love sewing clothes but there are so many businesses out there selling clothes that I am trying to find my niche. Cushion covers at the moment seem to be the way to go. I also do memory cushion covers and have orders for four memory cushion covers for year 6 children leaving primary school this year. If I don’t sell any of my custom cushion covers, I or one of the children will have them. You can never have enough cushions!!

Right must go to sleep as I am wanting to get more done tomorrow and need to sort out a to do list for April!
  • What a lovely idea, a memory cushion cover.  Is that a form of appliqué?

The ones I make from school uniform are squares of the different items of uniform put together in a patchwork. I have made a few last year but am really focussed on making more this year.
  • Sounds a lovely momento  of school days🙂.
