Bedrooms and occupants can be tricky to manage...all of mine share and always have done, even through GCSEs. DD1 has a desk in her room which the little ones know not to touch! 3 of the DDs share the largest room which seems to work well at the moment. The toddler shares with me then DS 1 and 2 share. The younger DDs tend to play in the living room / kitchen table which allows quieter working time for the older secondary age children.
Hope your current arrangement works well for you.
Thanks, the kids really enjoyed looking for eggs and having to bring back one at a time made it take a bit longer. I will definitely do it again next year.
Yes it is so tricky to work out who is best to share with who. I think it seems to be working and the top room is definitely a boys room. They have their toys up there and go up to play most of the time which is lovely. Just got to crack the three year old sleeping in his own bed all night now.Hey!! I've just finished reading your diary & I'm exhausted as even just reading what you do in one day has knackered me :rotfl: Puts me to shame with my 2 daughters, and I share 50/50 access with their dad!! You are seriously amazing! No idea how you do it.
Well done on the debt busting and saving! And Disney will be magical! I can't wait to take my girls one day. Hopefully in a couple of years
I've subscribed and will be cheering you on :T
I am generally exhausted most of the time to be honest and am generally in bed by 9pm most nights. Today it feels like now is the first time I have actually sat down and relaxed all day!
So today I was up early and we left the house at half seven, dropped two youngest off at nursery, then the oldest four at holiday club (the oldest works there as a junior coach!). Then went to work and didn't leave work until four pm. Picked up kids from holiday club, popped into HSBC bank to drop off signed acceptance of PPI claims form along with my ID. Then picked up youngest two from nursery, got home started dinner. Went to local shop as we had run out of milk! Fed kids, fed me, got youngest kids ready for bed and put them to bed. Went to the gym, came back, dropped 12 year old off at her friend's house for a sleepover, and collapsed into bed. In between I have also put two loads of washing on and dried three loads in the dryer, and sorted out the dry clothes from this morning. Also done two loads of washing up! That is a busy day and will probably be the same tomorrow but in addition will also drop off eldest two at rugby training!
But I have almost caught up on the washing, the house isn't looking too bad and is staying almost tidy, ready for me to have a bit of a clean at the weekend. I haven't managed to list anything for sale yet though, so will try and do five things tomorrow evening as I should have more time.
I also need to think of a list of things to get done by Sunday but will probably write that list tomorrow!0 -
So not had much chance to get on here today so haven't done my list yet. But here goes for the list for the weekend.
Tip Run
Put up shelves in the garage
Take clothes to Cash4Clothes
Sort out bag on landing
Go to gym twice
List 10 things on ebay/FB (this needs to be done as I have been really slack lately!)
File Paperwork
Iron school clothes
Tidy Conservatory
Move dining table and chairs to conservatory
Go shopping for gym clothes
Start getting presents for DD3 and DD10 -
So in money saving news I am currently awaiting the money from HSBC for my PPI claim. I have returned the acceptance form so its just a case of waiting for them to put the money in my bank account.
I have also escalated my lloyds PPI claim to the Ombudsman and am awaiting the outcome of that.
Yesterday I also put in a claim for a refund of the tax I have paid on the interest on my two PPI payouts so far. It was very easy to do online with HMRC and they think I should get about £140 back in tax paid which is a nice bonus.
I have also got the shelves for the garage so I can sort that out this weekend. I checked the business nectar card yesterday and we currently have £100 on there to spend. Only £20 of that is mine though and £80 is my colleagues as she hasn't spent any the last couple of years. So I went to Argos, and picked out the shelves and paid a total of £4.14 for them as I also had a £5 Love2shop voucher. So this weekend I can sort out my garage and hopefully get rid of some more bits and tidy it up a bit. I might even find some more bits to sell!
Right I suppose I had better get back to work, although I am the only one in and it is a bit boring today by myself!0 -
Oh and I am now under £6k on the outstanding debt. I paid the payment on one of my credit cards yesterday so I now owe £5873.85!! :j:j0

Well done, you are doing marvellously.
I must say the arguments between my boys have greatly reduced since all 4 have their own rooms, the only problem is I only see the eldest 2 when they are hungry. I think getting them double beds have seduced them - they are 13 and 15, and who knows how tall they will end up, so double beds it was. They hardly get out of them. Apart from when the wifi goes down and they feel the need to torment their younger brothers.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I know what you mean about only seeing teenagers when they are hungry. My 15 year old now has a double bed and basically spends her entire day in it unless she wants food!
It seems to be going ok and DS2 has now slept the last three nights in his own bed and all night long. This is progress as he hasn’t done that for as long as I can remember. The boys are turning their room into a boys play room which is lovely.
So today I had plans for doing so much and it has all gone wrong a bit as I woke up feeling bleurgh. It feels like I have a cold coming as I keep going hot and cold, I have a headache and a back ache. All I have managed to do today is take the clothes to cash4clothes and take the kids on an Easter egg hunt. I took some paracetamol when I got back so I am hoping that kicks in as I am supposed to be going to the gym tonight!
Right going to have a rest on the sofa for half an hour and then try tidying up the living room and kitchen.0 -
I hope you kick the lurgy into touch.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

So the list for the weekend has gone as follows:
Tip Run
Put up shelves in the garage
[STRIKE]Take clothes to Cash4Clothes[/STRIKE] Done
Sort out bag on landing
Go to gym twice - been once today, will go again on Sunday
List 10 things on ebay/FB (this needs to be done as I have been really slack lately!)
File Paperwork
Iron school clothes
Tidy Conservatory
Move dining table and chairs to conservatory
Go shopping for gym clothes
Start getting presents for DD3 and DD1 - I have one for DD3, and know exactly what I am getting for DD1.
And that is all I have managed today. I have dosed up on paracetamol and managed to get to my personal trainer session this evening. So I am feeling a bit better, just hope I have managed to slow down the onset of the lurgy!
Tomorrow three of the kids are going to their dads so I will then have some time to sort out the garage and do a tip run. Then two of the kids are going to my ex on Sunday so I will go to the gym then with my oldest. So I am hoping to get the house sorted out a lot this weekend! Fingers crossed it goes to plan!0 -
Right so this morning I haven't managed lots but I have done a bit off the list.
Tip Run
Put up shelves in the garage

[STRIKE]Start getting presents for DD3 and DD1 - I have one for DD3, and know exactly what I am getting for DD1.[/STRIKE]
Again dosed up on paracetamol as am still feeling a bit rough. Oldest is out in town with her friends this afternoon so I have the two youngest at home. Going to have a bit of a rest on the sofa and then take some more paracetamol before trying to attack the conservatory. Then tomorrow I will attack the garage with the help of the oldest and do a tip run.
I have managed to get some presents for DD1 and DD3 so I am happy with my progress on that. Got to decide what else to get DD3 as she doesn't really need anything! I have got her an outfit and a chocolate lolly maker at the moment. I might try and find a nice picture for her room now she has her own room and maybe a new school bag as she kept saying she wanted a school bag!
DD1 has a couple of outfits and I have got her a pandora bracelet and a couple of charms in the sale as she is going to be 16. It will be something for her to keep. Then I will get her a pair of kickers and ask everyone else to put in for a new phone for her and that will be her done.
Right going to find something to eat and then collapse on the sofa for a bit.0 -
You sound like you are well on the way to the 4 present method:
Something they want
Something they need,
Something to wear and
Something to read.
We've employed this with Pickle since he was born, makes life a lot easier. (Although we have done a dvd as well as a book for his next birthday)Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)
