Oh, thank you for the tips. We aren't doing Disney, everyone thinks we are mad, but we want to see how the younger two cope and it's the smallest who wants to see the Eiffel tower lol!Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0

Thanks Erin. It's nice to know I have inspired someone!
So we are back from our weekend away, all shattered and in bed but we did have fun. And I came home with £40 left if our spending budget!!:j So that has gone into my next savings pot. It's good to know that I am budgeting correctly for spending money. The kids enjoyed themselves, the rugby was good and it didn't rain!
Tomorrow will be a sort out the house day after our mini break and do lots of washing. I will have the small two at home with me though who will probably be trashing the living room!
Tomorrow morning I will also think of a list of things to do next week. On it will probably include a tip run lol. But my house is slowly getting clearer. I also need to get some more things up for sale! I can also pay the balance of our May holiday tomorrow so that will all be paid for. Right I'm off to sleep now and will catch up with the diaries tomorrow.0 -

Thank you. It does feel good to not spend money! I love seeing how much I have saved at the end of each week! Now I need to think of another challenge to keep me going! Although I do need to save up the spending money for our May half term holiday!Sayschezza wrote: »You could give them a large wooden ? letter each D. I.S.N.E.Y.
Ooohh that sounds like a good idea. I could wrap up each letter and give them one each. Then they have to make the word and work out what it means!0 -
So this morning hasn't really gone to plan!
I noticed this morning there was some water by the edge of the sofa and just thought one of the kids had split something. Nope - it turns out the radiator is leaking in the living room! So even though this morning the plan was to tidy up the downstairs whilst the two little ones were awake and put on some washing. It has been a quick move everything to one side so I could move the sofa and mop up the water. There is now a tub catching the drips and the sofa is currently on its end in the conservatory drying out!
In addition, I went to weigh in (which wasn't good but expected!) and the youngest was sick in the car. So no holiday washing been done yet as have had to take her car seat apart and wash it all!
Just managed to have a quick sit down and think about a list for this week so will type that up now.
Phone charity about unit in garage
Sort out paperwork
Tip run
Pay holiday balance
Pay rugby tour balance
Washing mountain - need to do at least one wash a day if not more!
List ten things on ebay/FB
Clear garage
Tidy garden
Cut grass if dry enough
Get shelves for garage
Price up new freezer
Exercise three times this week
Parents evening Wednesday
Do some work from home
Will add to the list as I go along!0 -

So done a couple of things and have been tidying and cleaning the kitchen. Just on a quick break and then will start going again. The kids can help tidy their rooms and put their clean clothes away when they come in!0 -
So just updated my signature with the current debt totals! Next month I will owe under £6k and the month after it will be under £5k.
I have done some work this afternoon whilst the little two have been asleep. I have also updated my spreadsheet as today is the start of a new week.
At the moment I am splitting any extra money I make or any savings on my weekly spending money two ways between savings for holiday and house deposit savings but I might start splitting it four ways.
This is because I have my spreadsheet done right up to December and I have worked out that I will have enough to cover the Disney Trip from the extra money left over in my current account.
So I might start by putting one quarter to holiday savings, one quarter to house deposit savings, one quarter to debt savings and one quarter to be left in my current account.
Unless I stop with the house deposit savings and just concentrate on the other three for a while. Decisions, decisions!0 -
I've not checked your diary for ages but just checked in and you are doing so so brilliantly. I am so pleased for you you've really got the debt down. And to be saving towards holidays and house deposit as well it's all so exciting . With regards to splitting the money I would be just as torn as you . I think holidays are important as they're family time but getting on the property ladder is also a really good idea. Maybe focus on the other three for a while like you say and then go back to house deposit at a later date. Having holidays whilst paying off debt helps you to not feel like you're drowning so much haha.0

I would suggest taking table tennis paddles and a few balls with you as there are loads of parks in Paris and they all have table tennis tables - I went with my two kids when they were 8 and 10 and they loved it!!
Have fun0
