Great news about the energy saving as well. I suppose it's doing you good not being able to relax - you're certainly getting a lot done.

Thanks Storm, yes it's good in a way as I get loads done but I could probably do with relaxing a bit although not sure I will ever do that. If I sit down, I am always thinking I should be doing something, what shall I do! :rotfl:

    Your doing so well .

Thanks Fay, it's good to know others think I am doing well. As I'm on my own, I have to make decisions myself with no one really to talk through them with. So that's why I come on here and post so much!

So today ended up being a manic day both at work and out of work. Good news is that I got meals from work for tonight and the next two days for all of us. We will be eating a lot of pasta but luckily the kids like pasta :rotfl:

I didn't get as much work done in the end but I have brought some home so I might get chance to do that tomorrow.

I did however save £30 from this week's spending money when I thought at one point I wouldn't save anything. That was with me buying lunch today for me and my daughter at work, so happy with that.

Need to sort a to do list for tomorrow now.
    • Take kids to school for 8.30
    • Weigh in day!
    • Tip run
    • Package ebay sale and take to post office
    • Get swimming hat from school uniform shop
    • Fix toilet roll holder in bathroom
    • Finish ironing school clothes
    • Washing mountain!
    • Change kids sheets
    • Do some work
    • Clean bathroom
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Pay rent and credit card
    • Make pasta and meatballs for dinner
    • Make tuna pasta salad for lunches
    • Put shopping delivery away

That's probably enough for one day but I shall try to list some more things for sale as I obviously haven't had time to do that today!
  • So done a bit this morning but not much. Got to get some motivation to get going but at the moment I am waiting in for my food delivery. It should be here any minute!

I have had the money in for my old wedding ring and my ex's wedding ring today so that's another £87.36 towards the holiday which is half paid now.

I have just updated my signature as I have paid the payment to my credit card for this month as well. Next week I'll make the first payment to my other credit card.

Now my overdraft is paid off, I am keeping a £100 buffer in my current account and anything left over at the end of the month is being put into savings!

Still got two PPI claims outstanding so I am hoping that they will cover the rest of the holiday balance.

My total savings are up to £1266.83 which includes £100 in clothes funds as I haven't had to buy anything for the kids for a few weeks and DS2 got clothes for his birthday so they came out of the present fund.

Once the two youngest is asleep I will do some housework but I also need to sort a massive to do list of what else needs sorting in the house.

Right best get on, I can package up the ebay sale ready to take to the post office once the food delivery has been!

Good grief, the money for the rings came in quickly :money:

I don't think I've got any gold left, I cashed my spare stuff years ago and bought myself a computer, which in turn led to me finding my first employment since having 2 kids. Funnily enough me and DH were talking about this only yesterday, because I included a bangle which was a 21st birthday present from my parents that no longer fitted my wrist. We were talking about whether special birthdays should have a keepsake (our eldest is 18 at the weekend) and I said that I hadn't anything but to look at it another way my parents 'gave' (enabled) me to earn over £15k by me buying the computer.

When do you think your debt free day will be?

I know I just caught the special delivery post on Saturday, so they arrived today and the money was in my account by lunchtime. Very impressed to be honest. It wasn't loads but it's better being in my bank account. I have a necklace that my dad gave me for my 21st so now I am deciding whether I really want to keep it or whether to sell.

That's good about your bangle that enabled you to get a computer and then a job!

My debt free date is now October this year. Originally it was February 2020, but then debts got cleared and one has disappeared so then it was November this year and now I have redone my budget it's now October. I am hoping for maybe the month before if I keep going with earning extra money / saving money from my budgets!
  • Right how did I get on with my to do list for today
    • Take kids to school for 8.30 Done
    • Weigh in day! Done - lost half a pound which is a miracle as I have eaten so much chocolate the last week.
    • Tip run Not done and now got even more rubbish. This will have to be done on Friday now unless I take a few bags of rubbish to work with me on Thursday.
    • Package ebay sale and take to post office Done
    • Get swimming hat from school uniform shop Done
    • Fix toilet roll holder in bathroom Done
    • Finish ironing school clothes Done
    • Washing mountain! Done all washed but need to dry it all now!
    • Change kids sheets Not done, will get the kids to help tomorrow after school
    • Do some work Nope
    • Clean bathroom Nope!
    • Update spreadsheet Done
    • Pay rent and credit card Done
    • Make pasta and meatballs for dinner Done
    • Make tuna pasta salad for lunches Not done but knowing me I will be awake at stupid o'clock in the morning so I will attempt to do it then
    • Put shopping delivery away Done

I haven't listed anything else, but I have done a huge list of where needs sorting in the house and a huge list of what can be sold. So I can start to tick things off the list when I have listed them somewhere and then cross them off completely when they are sold.

Need to get bags ready for the youngest two for nursery tomorrow in the hope that the snow isn't too bad and I can get them there and go to work tomorrow.
  • Well just caught up on diaries after a manic day. The snow wasn't too bad so schools and nursery were open and meant I could go into work.

Work then was manic and is going to be that way for a while until me and my colleague get on top of things. We are getting there but it will take us a few weeks.

My daughter has been baking again today and has made chocolate chip brownies which are lovely but aren't helping my diet! She also made home made pizzas for tea tonight and I made a chicken pasta bake for tomorrow. I also made some tuna pasta salad for lunch. I know it's a lot of pasta but it is filling and should hopefully stop me from eating too much bad stuff!

Nothing sold today on eBay but have four things finishing on eBay tomorrow, three have bids and all have watchers. I am hoping for a bidding war tomorrow :rotfl:. I think I need to set myself a target of listing so many items a week. I did a nice long list of what else I can sell, so I can work through that!

Not much is going on money saving wise. I hate spending money even if I have it budgeted for. I just want to clear my debts and then start saving for a house. I'm so impatient!

Right best get off to sleep as I'm sure it will be another long day tomorrow.
  • So today is a snow day. Both schools are shut so kids are very happy. Nursery is open but I really don't fancy driving in the snow and am definitely not going to attempt to get to work down some country lanes.

I can check emails from home and I have some other bits to do so I will do them this morning to try and keep up. Then will spend the day with the kids baking, playing in the snow and doing some sorting out! I might even try and list a few more bits for sale.

Some bits are finishing on ebay today so as they all have watchers I am hoping for a bit of a bidding war later. Once these have finished I will know how much extra I have made this month and how much I have saved.

Enjoy the snow if you have it!
  • Lots of snow up here (just below Scotland) and still falling though the sun is just trying to peek through right now. Fingers crossed for your eBay stuff - hopefully lots of people will be home and bidding as they're snowed in.

  • Apparently the schools here are planning on being shut tomorrow and Friday due to heavy snow being forecast, DD will be pleased.
Good luck with your Ebay selling, I keep meaning to have a good sort out and try for some extra pocket money.

Thanks Joey, there was indeed a flurry of bidding right at the end. All four items sold, so just need to package them up and post them but I need to buy some more bubble wrap and envelopes. Not going out again today though!

Thanks Honeybee, I did do alright, £26 profit after fees and postage for four items that I wasn't using anymore is good. That money has gone straight to my holiday savings!

I am hoping the schools are open tomorrow, my kids have been arguing and fighting today! And I need to get into work tomorrow and will probably have to bring some work home with me. But as long as it is just doing some quick emails I should be able to do it tomorrow evening or Friday.

So end of the month round up for February!
    Debt now currently £6849.66
    Emergency fund £412.50
Money paid off debts in Feb £1118.35
    Extra money made £460.26
    Weight loss 4.5lbs
    Total savings £1262.83

    Goals for March 2018
    Pay off Debt £600
    Make extra money £100
    Weight loss 4lbs
Save for remaining holiday balance £147.50
    Save for freezer £200
    Save for garden clearance £50

I think that's enough goals and as at the end of March I will be down to just two debts!
