I like to make financial plans, but they have a habit of constantly changing
Thanks Drawingaline. I do like a plan but as you say it keeps changing but hopefully it will hanger because of something good!0 -

Hope the weekend treats you well - and you treat yourself to a little time out.
Thanks Joey. I'm not burying my head in the sand, love your metaphors by the way. Yes I know that at any time, I could get contacted about it so if I do, I will adjust my repayments!
Not had time to treat myself so far as been sorting the loft! But might do tonight!0 -

Thanks Enthusiastic saver. I do think I am doing ok and am totally committed to clearing this debt now.0 -

Can you tell I don't know how to multiquote! :rotfl:
So in MSE news I sold some old brownie uniform for £10 and cased out £9.43 from surveys so went straight off the next target debt.
Then this afternoon has been a sort out a bit of the loft day. Before we started we couldn't even get to the loft doors due to bags in the at and then when you did open the doors there was just piles of rubbish. So bags from outside sorted and ready to take to cash for clothes on Monday. Then piles of rubbish sorted and either put in piles to keep, piles to sell, piles to go to charity shop or bags of rubbish to go to the tip.
The loft isn't completely sorted but at least we can get in and out now.
In addition I found some old paperwork. I did a complaint via resolver for an old HFC loan which I thought I and ppi on. Well they phoned me and asked for the account number. I couldn't give it to them over the phone but said I probably had it in the loft. They said they would write to me an I could give them the account number. I found it which is amazing so I will send that off to them. I also found how much I paid in case they don't have the records still.
I also found some old Lloyd's credit card statements going back to 1999 which also had ppi on. So I have sent off a claim to them today. I know it's from a long time ago but I actually have all the statements and know exactly how much I paid. I just thought there is no harm in trying, what have I got to lose!
I knew there was a reason why I kept all the old paperwork. I will go through the box and see if there are anymore bits in there that I can claim for!0 -

Thanks Spendless I did try to do that but I was on my tablet and it didn’t seem to work but I probably didn’t do it right. I will try again later.0

Ok so today has been spent sorting out the loft again. Result 13 bags of clothes etc ready to take to cash for clothes tomorrow.
In addition I have worked out my spends for the week and have saved £30 from my petrol budget and £54 from my general spending budget. So that £84 has gone to my rugby tour fund.
So as another week is over I am going totally up on my January goals
Pay off debt £10114.82/£2200 (this is way over because I had £7170.97 not being chased for anymore)
Extra money made £118.28/£100 :j
Total debts at start Dec 2017 £23057.16 Jan 2018 £12792.34 (partly due to the amounts not being chased and a ppi reclaim)
Emergency fund £350/£600
Rugby tour funds £98/£355
Other savings £291.61
Shopprize points 7408/10000
Shoppix points 2370/3200
So this month has been amazing but mainly due to a couple of big results. However I have been thinking about money and I don't want to spend just for the sake of it. The result of this has been my overdraft. At the end of December I was £32 from my £1000 limit and at the end of this month I am £443 from my limit. This is partly due to the money from my nan but also partly due to me thinking more and being more conscious of my spending.
Now to set targets for February!0 -
So today I feel like I am winning.
No work but at home with the two little ones. Went to weigh in but that didn't go well, but oh well today marks the start of a new week.
Then took a load of clothes to a local cash 4 clothes place. Didn't get loads but at least I got something and didn't have the hassle of listing every item, posting, dealing with buyers or just throwing away or taking to a charity shop and not getting anything.
Then made a decision to change the evening routine. My youngest goes to bed and sleep really well but my son is a nightmare. Once he is asleep (in my bed!) he is fine, but getting him to sleep is not fun unless he hasn't had a nap in the day. So today I decided was going to be different so I get some time to myself. The youngest got put to bed at seven and she went to sleep straight away. And I took my son up to my bed at 7 as well. I got ready for bed and got into bed next to him. After just over an hour he went to sleep! I am hoping that eventually he will go to sleep quicker and without me being there. And maybe one day in his own bed!
Whilst I was upstairs the three middle ones were doing their chores downstairs. They all have one chore to do each day in order to help me and keep the hose running smoothly. They did their chores and did mess around a bit but they were in bed by 8pm.
Whilst waiting for my son to fall asleep, I researched selling my daughter's old phone that doesn't work. I think hopefully I'll be able to get some money for that so that will be being sent off tomorrow.
Feel like things are going well at the moment, but I am sure that things will change!0 -
Sounds like a good day in the end.
Maybe some things to consider regarding your son's sleeping. Can you introduce a teddy, so he has a sleep attachment to that, not you?
Can you sit next to him, but he is in his bed so he develops positive attachments to his own bed?
It may take time, but that's two things that maybe steps along the way. My son is the opposite, he copes much better with sharp changes in routine, he'd rather have all the change in one go, than me !!!!!footing around making gradual changes. So, when ŵe went from feeding and cuddling him to sleep to him self settling in his own bed we introduced the whole new routine in one go, by night three you would have thought he'd been doing it forever. But every child is different.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)
