Single, six kids and going to be debt free!

This is brilliant news. Imagine being able to enjoy Christmas entirely debt free . I'll be keeping everything crossed that it all goes to plan!0

I know and great news about the £7000 but would be even better if the other debt dropped off as well as that is just under £5000. I think I might go forward with the idea that they aren't chasing me, then if they do I can set up a plan going forward!0

I would seek the advice of your debt management charity on this one and see what the response is re the 5k. You had a great bit of luck on the 7k.BC 0/15305.83 MBNA: 0/11231.16 TESCO 0/822.87 LOAN 0/4272.670

I am doing this myself and not using a charity now. I think I will see if I receive a reply but in the meantime I will pay the other two big ones. If I do receive a reply then I can always adjust the repayment amounts.
So I seem to spend an awful long time thinking about things. My latest plan is the following:
- Pay the overdraft off by the end of February from usual money
- Pay off the two small debts that are up to date by march and April
- Pay off the two large old debts by agreeing repayment plans of just over £300 per month each
- If I hear anything from the other old debt then I will adjust the repayment figures accordingly
- Any extra money made from surveys, selling stuff etc will go towards one of the small debts to start off with
- Any savings made on the weekly budgets will go into my rugby tour fund.
That's the plan for now but it will probably change.0 -

I think you've reasoned that out very well. And you're not burying your head in the sand about it, just putting it in a little bucket (sorry was confusing myself with mixed metaphors!).

Sounds like you are making good progress. I wouldn’t worry about Nat West writing off your old debt. I expect they have had plenty of interest over the years from you. Sounds like you are doing well making your own DMP arrangements.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
