I am thinking that the reason I haven't had the offer is because I didn't go for the standard internet security through Barclays. I had the choice to get Total Security for 5 devices @ £6.99 for the year as opposed to getting the free internet security.

I’m not sure The United Kingdom's National Cyber Security Centre would agree with your assumption.

And what do "The United Kingdom's National Cyber Security Centre" know?
They are just being over cautious and spoilers.

They don't say anything about microsoft, avg etc riddled with spyware

I'm really surprised at everyone's surprise regarding the above ..

Id stake my life that some shady USA government agency will have forced Microsoft to add a few lines of its own code here and there to windows too.

its par for the course these days

    Exactly I agree
  • Hi Simon7685,

I am in the same boat as you! Have you managed to renew Total Security at a discounted rate?

Might be waiting a while a reply, not been on since last month.

Plenty of free options for anti virus out there.
  • I've been a Kaspersky user for a few years through barclays and have never had a virus or spyware problem whilst using it but have had many friends fetch their computers or laptops to me to sort out because they have had spyware or virus problems when using avg.
This past year though I have been having quite a few problems with false positives when going on sites like good housekeeping. Not sure why this has been happening as the sites it was doing this on were all legit sites that I use regularly when entering competitions through the comping boards.
I have now decided to give Bitdefender a go and so far all is good.
