I’m a numpty :(

What are my rights for throwing away rubbish that was combined with a ten pound note straight after withdrawing from in branch over the counter because I realised what a numpty I was after getting on the bus. May they [Santander] or may they not refund me the money back into my account?

I'd say you have no chance.

I would say the same since it was my responsibility to look after it.

    Your post is incomprehensible.

You withdrew cash over the counter and threw it away by accident?

No chance of getting that back!
  • I think the most 'numptyish' thing about this is actually going online to ask somebody....

Great thread. I haven't laughed so much in ages. I wonder how many will reply with other examples of numptyishnish. I expect that the Oxford English Dictionary will include this as an example of numptyism.

    Numpty

I was such a numpty that I threw away a tenner in the rubbish and asked if my bank would refund it into my account.

I’m not sure about you lot, but everyone on my thread seem like numpties at the moment. Tone your attitudes down!

Was the rubbish bin actually in the Santander branch?
  • You can get a bank note replaced if it’s been shredded or had some other kind of accident, under certain circumstances, but I think you’re pushing it a bit. Imagine the myriad of stories that customers could come up with to claim their ‘losses’ back.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

Nope, there's only one numpty on this thread, and it's definitely you.
  • Was it only a tenner ?

If it was more then I am sure Santander will accept full responsibility for their mistake and refund the full amount plus interest plus damages, maybe a bit extra for mental distress and anxiety caused to your self.

I would approach one of those no win no fee guys, they would welcome you in open arms.

Do you need assistance with Santander contact details, or was that thrown away with the tenner.
Debt is a symptom, solve the problem.
