    Hi there,

If you have a CCJ for a parking ticket, that would mean the ticket was issued by a private company (as opposed to the council). These companies will normally get the information from the DVLA to send you notice of the ticket. If the car details were incorrect with the DVLA it could explain why it has gone to the wrong address, however, I cannot say why your date of birth is wrong.

Now a CCJ has been entered you have a couple of choices. You can try and challenge the CCJ through a set aside application. This can cost £255 to apply (unless you are on certain benefits) and takes the judgement back to the beginning. The court will normally assess why you didn't reply to the original claim forms, how promptly have you applied to set it aside and do you have a realistic prospect of a defence. You will need legal advice on this because if your application is unsuccessful you can incur costs of the other side.

Alternatively, you can pay the judgement. If you pay the judgement in full within 1 month of it being entered then the CCJ will be removed from your credit file and no further action will be taken. If the CCJ is already older than that, you can still pay it, but it will show for 6 years from the date of judgement. If you cannot pay it in full you can apply to the court to pay instalments (this costs £50 to apply for) in order to prevent enforcement action, such as bailiffs. Good luck

  • thank for the response.
my date of birth is not in car log book. the ccj is on wrong address where the log book is registered and the address is not in my credit file history.
there is nothing mention of ccj on my credit file..
my confusion is the parking ccj linked with name and address, because there are many people of my name, would this ccj effect all those people?

" the ccj is on wrong address where the log book is registered "

is the ccj on the address that is stated on your V5 , OR WAS on the V5 at the date of the incident (not court date)

well i supposed to move at that address but some how didnt, my friend there told me about letters, my name is [Removed], there are many of my name, was being lazy and didnt update the address...
it means any one can ruin your credit file by filing a wrong claim at wrong address and the defendant would not attend the court and will get ccj..
