Parking Eye

I received a £100 parking fine today from 'Parking Eye' for parking in the car park of the Holiday Inn Express at Luton Airport. It was 21.20pm, very dark and could not see any signs warning me of parking restrictions. I had intended to stay in the hotel but found a better and cheaper place on the internet to stay so I left. The advice used to be, ignore these private companies and was wondering if that advice has changed at all?

Shall I just delete the NEWBIES thread, as it's seemingly invisible?

lets see how they get on with NO ADVICE at all !! lol
  • As I am a new member on this forum, perhaps you can explain how I get from this thread to the 'BPA member advice' or 'Newbies FAQ'? I tried the 'search box' and got stuff entirely unrelated?

try looking at the threads above yours, there are 4 of them "stuck" to the top of this forum, the NEWBIES FAQ thread is the third one down at the moment

if you read the signature from COUPON MAD , she lists the pathway to find it too , so its always at the bottom of her posts

its actually just to the right of the red NEW THREAD button that you used to create this thread
  • I think we must get a different look to our pages, as there are no threads above my own thread - just a green toolbar, and my 'red NEW THREAD' button has changed to a blue 'reply' button. Can I get to them on one of the 'drop-down menu's?

Before you created this thread you must have been looking at the parking forum first page, to have hit 'new thread'. Why hit 'new thread' before reading the sticky posts pinned at the top of the forum you were looking at?

That's a genuine question, I want to understand why we keep getting newbies posting a basic question already fully covered by the advice sticky thread in capital letters, calling newbies to please 'READ THESE FAQS FIRST'.

It's nothing personal. In all honesty, we spend our free time here but we can't handle the forum like this with the most basic stuff being asked; we already reply to an average of 6 entire pages of new posts/threads every single day, well over 200 new posts per day sometimes.

You are on your own thread now. We are not talking about now, not after creating a thread. Before.

You were not on any thread when you arrived at this forum, that's where you were at and that's where the top posts are. Surely you were looking at the thread list of the parking forum? Where the New Thread button was?

One click back (see my signature).

I really want to understand how people do this.

come out of your thread and back into the main parking sub-forum

now look below the bar and your thread is about the 5th thread down, the top 4 threads are "stuck" just below that bar

the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread is the 3rd thread down with 5 posts in it
  • Just typed in 'NEWBIES FAQ' in the 'Forum search' drop-down menu but cannot see it. Too many threads?
