Morning all, I fell asleep early last night and woke early (for me.)

I already have some washing in and cats and fish are fed.

The UPS man has left my parcel at yet another shop across town so I will have to drive to collect it  I left a note to bring it to the front of the house (DS was in) but instead he walked through the garden store and left the slip inside the open back door.

This afternoon I have to collect an order for my mum for a hamper she is making for her Moslem friends. She is friendly with all three daughters so wanted to do a gift for the whole family but most of the 'bought' hampers have alcohol in. I have done a click and collect order and used a voucher for money off first order and we will make it up ourselves.

I am also going to dye my mum's hair saving her £40 at the hairdressers. I will print out my postage label while I'm there but I don't think it will stand much chance of getting there before Christmas which is a shame because it is selling well. Next year I might do them in packs of three as people are buying multiples of them.

I plan to continue the tidy up of upstairs, I put all the clean washing away yesterday and changed the sheets, I just need to hoover and then it is done. (DS's room is another story.) I can then move onto downstairs which is clean but just needs the floors washing.

I'll be eating at my mum's tonight but I will do pie and mash for DS before I go. I did a big shop yesterday which seemed to cost a fortune but the fridge is well stocked. I also managed to get a couple of YS 'fresh' meals (gammon with pineapple and some kind of coated fish) that we've not tried before.

    Have a good day everyone!

Free exercise running down the road with my parcel to get back to my car before the traffic warden did :rotfl: I literally overtook her!

I've just had a *doh* moment, I'm fretting that these won't get put into stock before the last few run out (Amazon take five days before they get stuff unpacked and ready to sell) but I can just hang onto them, wait for the last few to sell, and then convert it to 'fulfilled by me' and post them myself if there are any more ordered before Christmas, I could even convert it to a pack of three without getting a new barcode if I'm doing it myself.

  • My mum helped with some of the housework... she finished up the rest of the kitchen and cleaned my toilet, cleaned my washing machine runner rim of the dust too and made sure i was wrapped up with a lemsip and a hot water bottle before she left.

I didn't ask her to those things but she defiantly helped and felt sorry for me being ill.

No luck with setting up my laptop as a desktop monitor though so looking like I'm going to have to buy a brand new laptop

  • Late post for me today:

Drove to see friend and delivered presents and gave her 4 cards to deliver to poeple she would see
    Gave blood :A 1st time - free biscuit ;)
Making lasagne for tea. Sans mushrooms. I don’t have any and wasn’t particularly going past any shop. I’m sure we’ll survive ;)
Could of loads of washing shuffled on rads
Write addresses on last few cards, will post tomorrow. Write neighbours cards and deliver.
Do some more wrapping later if I have the inclination! Need to at least wrap for people I’m seeing Saturday.
More tidying and putting away, stuff in lounge which need sorting which will make the place look so much better.
    Check banking
    Do a couple of surveys
Make some pastry for a quiche for Christmas Day that I’m going to freeze

Right must go get smalls from school. Back later. Purps.
  • No inspiration found for wrapping, will see if I find it today :rotfl:

    Other things:

Left overs for lunch for dd, DH and I. All from freezer :A
Something else from freezer for tea
Do small shopping list to go and get first thing in the morning
HM malt loaf toasted for breakfast
Put some photos in I had printed for elderly relatives card
    Hot drink for commute
Smalls Christmas fayre tonight. Will restrict spends.
Washing out on radiators, some more to put away. No ironing ;)
Still a week of school and work. Hanging on for the last stretch. At least all clubs are now finished which gives us a bit of time back in the evening.

Hope everyone that’s not posting is well and just busy in RL.

    Hi gang

    Hope you're all well :)

Things are good here really - just the same old...

Had our work do last night and this morning we don't start until 10am. Now just need to decide if I go for the tram at 9am or get a taxi in at 9.30.... :p Then it's free food and drink all day and I also don't need to come home at lunchtime for the dog as usual so it's an easy day for me really. :T

Think I will spend my lunch break in tk maxx... Need to take a £19.99 cardigan back but have a feeling I will buy a £24.99 jumper instead... Much check my budget before I go!!

Will catch up with you all this weekend - just realised it's after 8.30 already!! My 9am tram is looking unlikely! :rotfl:

Make celery soup using ingredients I already have :)
Plenty of yesterday's stew left for dinner, just need to heat it up and bake some potatoes to go with it :)
Might make a cake, some eggs need using.
    Check for surveys later
    Check banks
    Wrap an ebay parcel

Better get on with some of it!

I like it when you post in black, 1LuckyLady, the colours make my eyes hurt!

I've had a lazy day as I was awake until 5am again but my last load of washing is in (until DS clears his room) and I hand washed a few bits that wouldn't fit in the dishwasher.

There have been delays on A disbursement so for days but four went in at once today so I've transferred it across to my current account. I've not had a single sale on there today and the site seems very glitchy, hopefully normal service will resume soon.

Lunch was some frozen mash with melted cheese on and DS had pie and mash. I know it's lazy but I'm using the frozen mash a lot at the moment, it's only £1 per bag and you can just shake out as much or as little as you like (they're like little naked potato croquettes!) and microwave and they taste fine.

Off out for a half price curry tonight and then some late night Christmas shopping (not mine, mine's done!)

    Hi Friday Frugalistas,
A nice big pile of Christmas cards landed on our doormat this morning. Enjoyed reading those & snipped all the stamps off for the RSPC albatross campaign. MSE -ish stuff today:
*Turned 2 bedroom radiators down a notch.
*Cleaned kitchen & bathroom using minimal products & washable cloths.
*mr f came home from seeing 'Star Wars' (waaaay too yawn-inducing for me) & asked if he could do anything. "Clean the lounge windows", I said, kind of hopefully, & he did, inside & out! Used a product I won in a prize draw years ago & polished it all off with scrunched up newspaper.
*Cooked some blackberries & baked a basic almond sponge ready for Boxing Day trifle.
*Baked birthday cake for mr f's birthday tomorrow.
*Sorted big pile of magazines gifted to me from my Mum & sister.
*Sorted out lots of other random stuff given to me by Mum yesterday......mostly useful things.
    *Received £34 knitting money.
    *Laundry on heated airer.
*Vintage glass decanter re-filled with bargainaceous bubble bath.
*Unblocked kitchen sink. A bit slimy & not exactly the stuff of glamour, but better than a £40 call-out charge. No idea WHAT the gunk was that came out on the end of my £1 plastic plughole jobber kit from Wilko's, but out it came & I didn't even need to use the bottle of drain clearing gel. Result!
*2 use it ups for lunch.
*Mr f called at Aldi for the grocery shopping - £31 for almost all the list. Just need a piece of steak & some pudding rice so we will be on budget.
*Fitted extra draft excluder to lounge door.
*Knit. Well I've knat nothing so far today, but will do some later on.
    Have a peaceful evening all.
    F xx

Lots of decluttering today - a pile of old magazines, a book, made OH sit on the bed while I went through his clothes. Found some polo shirts that he didn't know he had, identified some gaps, found a pair of trousers that needs a button sewn back on, and put out 19 items for the CS :T Took the big bagful to the CS before he changed his mind (along with the book), the magazines went into the recycling :)

Best of all, nothing spent today :j
