Inaccurate AA Car Check HPI

I guess I felt I didn't need to check the car mileage history my self as the AA said they would do it for me. At the time I was in need of a car and short on time so took advantage of the AA car check to do my checks for me, to expect that report to be accurate is not asking a lot.
I don't mind loosing money on it but I don't expect to lose 30-40% of a 10K car value in 6 months.
MOT mileage is as follows:
Sep '14 27K
July '15 12K
July '16 24K
June '17 34K
Service stamps 2013 - 7K 2015 - 12K 2017 - 34K
The MOT mileage is what was recorded by the tester at the time. They are human, and mistakes do happen.
The same applies to the service records.
I'm at a loss to understand how the AA could possibly check these mileages. They can't be expected to take responsibility for something over which they have no control.0 -

Surely the AA could spot the discrepancy in the MOT mileages and flag it to the customer requesting the check?0 -

All those mileages would have been printed on the MOT certificate the customer was handed...
I don't get your point? The OP used a service provided by AA to give peace of mind when buying the vehicle that there were no obvious discrepancies or issues. The AA appear to have failed to pick up a fairly basic discrepancy and absolve themselves of responsibility in their T&Cs.
If they hadn't used the AA service, then fair enough, it's on them for lack of due care, but you don't keep a dog and bark yourself.
OP,
Just re-read your post and they don't dismiss claims based on negligence, so I would have though you have some comeback on them since it would appear negligent not to have spotted the mileage discrepancy on the MOT record unless the info was not available at that time for some reason such as a private plate being fitted. Worth following this up with them.0 -

Did you buy from a dealer and are now selling privately? It's entirely possible that a car you pay £10k for at a dealer would sell for £7k privately 6 months later especially at this time of year.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

I mean that the OP didn't even bother glancing at the paperwork supplied with the vehicle by the vendor at the time of sale.
No doubt it was an oversight no to check the paperwork more thoroughly, essentially I paid for a service to do this for me. I don't think it's too much to ask that the paid for service is accurate!0
