    I like things that stretch it out a bit - cinema/theatre tokens.

    I have an ongoing arrangement with Mum that at some point in the year something interesting will come up, she buys tickets for us and gives us some money for dinner beforehand.

    Buy him a Bose Bluetooth Speaker. From the sound of it, i doubt he'd be in the market for cuff links or collar stiffeners !
  • I think premium bonds is a great idea. He clearly doesn't want any 'things' and they will only get in his way and gather dust.

    For you, giving stuff is a demonstration of love and for him getting stuff from you isn't. No criticism of either of you: as someone mentioned earlier, different languages of love.
    My husband and I stopped giving each other xmas presents very early in our relationship - an utter relief for both of us.
    I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
