This is why I use unique addresses for everyone. It'd tell me straight away where the spammers got my address from. Definitely the most useful feature of the system.

• Ive been getting around 100-200 a day from these people and have noticed they all started when i spent a couple of hours unsubscribing to my endless junk mail. The names and email addresses of the senders are all different. For example norriscaruso@juloh.reexportation.com is just one of many! Doing the rule tip on outlook express, see if that works. Only thing is there not just coming from rewardzone and i dernt click on there unsubscribe links cos ill never be rid of them. I would change to gmail but i am a member of that many survey sites i cant keep track.

Noooooooooooooooo. There's a couple of hours you'll never get back and all for nothing. In fact, as you've probably now learned, you've spent all that time actively increasing your spam. When you click on an unsubscribe on a spam email, you add yourself to more lists because the spammer sees that your address is real and "live" and more valuable and viable. Think of it this way although it says "unsubscribe", it's actually a "subscribe" link. If you think that's underhanded and sneaky well, they're already acting illegally, so why would they suddenly act sincerely just for the unsubscribe? The best thing is for them to think your address doesn't exist at all. Either don't have any communication with them whatsoever or let the email genuinely bounce back (only works properly if you really do shut down that address). Unless of course you mean unsubscribing to solicited mail, in which case ignore everything I said :)

Know that now lol. Thought it was illegal not to give people the option in small print to unsubscribe.

As I implied, unsolicited email is already illegal. It's the equivalent of questioning why a joyrider doesn't indicate in their stolen car. The fact they're sending the email illegally demonstrates they're out to get as many addresses as possible and are not going to be interested in upholding the smallprint of either USA's CANSPAM act or EU Directives. If they were following the law then you wouldn't have got the email in the first place.

If it is something you have subscribed to legitimately in the past then yes I would expect them to have genuine unsubscribe options, and that is the only time I'd ever recommend going through the unsubscribe process, when you've specifically subscribed with them yourself in the past.

I am getting these Asda emails too. Outlook Express is now very slow at receiving mail and I wondered if these Asda emails had anything to do with it?

And live addresses are more valuable so they will sell them on.
• Got a strong suspicion my spam stems from Pigsback. Never ever had a spam problem, probably cos I never sign up to anything apart from on there..... then suddenly since about 3 weeks ago I'm being bombarded left right and centre with the stuff - nearly all from "Savings Pioneer", although you don't know it's from them til you open the e mail cos they disguise the heading with something different every time (Asda etc).

Made the mistake of unsubscribing to the first few dozen, then returning the damn things with a few choice words inserted in my return message - it didn't stop the spam but made me feel a bit better!!

Know this post won't be much help to anyone, just had to get it off my chest cos it's soooooooooo annoying!!!
