Maybe, but I wonder where mine is, that email is my ebay, pigsback and surveys email - the other stuff inc myspace, gets referred to my overspammed hotmail account.~*Cerenia*~

I've had about 100 of these today. They've all been sent to an email address I use only for junk stuff - registering at sites I don't yet trust, entering competitions, and some survey sites such as Valued Opinions and Pigsback. I don't have this account registered at Facebook or EBay and none of my friends know of this address - don't know if that helps?0

I use Gmail and have not had any of these emails.
I will advise people again about how to completely avoid spam when using Gmail (it gets automatically deleted).
Blocking spam by the address they are sent to
The following example uses the email JoeBloggs@gmail.com as it's address.
Sign into your account, then click settings and accounts.
Click add another email address and in the window which pops up type the email address Joe.Bloggs@gmail.com.
Follow the steps through to verification and click for it to send the verification email.
Go to your inbox, you'll see the verification mail in your inbox, click the link and when it has loaded close the window/tab to return to your inbox again.
Click settings and accounts then in the list of email addresses, click Make Default next to Joe.Bloggs@gmail.com
Click filters then create new filter.
In the To section put -Joe.Bloggs@gmail.com (the minus symbol is important, make sure to include it)
Click next step then place a tick in the box beside "Delete It".
Now any mails sent to you which are not Joe.Bloggs@gmail.com are automatically deleted.
To identify sources of spam in the future, when signing up to a website give your email address in the form of Joe.Bloggs+website@gmail.com, some websites don't allow this, though most do.
Using the example above with this website would be Joe.Bloggs+moneysavingexpert@gmail.com.
That way, if one of the sites that you have signed up to sell your email address on or start sending out too many emails for your liking, you can simply create a new filter to delete emails sent to that one particular email address instead of having to create new accounts all the time and continuously having to sift through a ton of spam emails caught by Gmail for the few false negatives it produces.
This tip works with Gmail for your domain also (now called Google Apps), but if you have a domain which uses the Gmail services you might find it more beneficial to log in to your admin control panel and create an email list which diverts mail to your generic Gmail inbox.
For instance the email list could be called websites@domain.com and the only recipient of that list would be Joe.Bloggs@gmail.com.
If you did this, you would have to add an additional rule to your filter so that the To field then looked like...
-Joe.Bloggs@gmail.com, -websites@domain.com
With Gmail I have found that 100% of the spam I received was not addressed to the email address containing the dot, some of it was not addressed to my email address at all, since implementing these changes I have been spam-free with no false positives for around 8 months.
Gmail provides the most powerful spam filters of all of the free email providers, once we become familiar with how they work, they really do become a very important tool.
Blocking spam by the address they are sent to
This method might be favoured by some because it tends to rule out the possibility that your sent emails will be deleted to trash.
Click settings, then filters, then create a new filter.
In the from field enter every email address that you are willing to receive mail from with a minus sign directly in front of it followed by a comma and a space for multiple addresses.
Click next step, place a tick in the box next to Delete it and click create filter.
This will automatically delete email sent from any email address which you have not included in the list with a minus sign, keeping your inbox clean from spam. You will have to remember to keep updating this filter over time however when others update their email addresses and/or as you come into contact with more people you wish to email.0 -

Same with me my gmail address is only for pigsback, and ebay and I've been getting hundreds of the asda spams.
nor registered with Facebook, so does this mean pigsback is the source?0 -
the ones i'm getting are from clashprize - i always put websitename@myemailaddress.wanadoo.co.uk when i'm not sure of a website and i'm getting most of my junk mail from clashprize0

You may like to consider using a SPAM reporting service such as http://www.spamcop.net/ It is somewhat technical to set up and you have to be careful to report only genuine SPAM mail. Here is some wiki information about the service at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SpamCop.

Remember Freeserve?
Long gone but I still have and use a freeserve email address and the great thing about them are you can put anything before the @ sign.
So say I sign up to joeblogs.com I would use joeblogs@myfreeserve.freeserve.co.uk so any mail with that address has to have come from joeblogs.com.
Reminds me I must sign in soon to retain it.
I have a gmail account and have had no spam that comes in here.0 -
Looks like... pigsback could be the source? Eeep, hope not!
Had only 50 since 3am, 3 for £150, 35 for $150, the rest 'normal' spam.~*Cerenia*~

If pigsback is the source, it's not the only source, because I'm not signed up with them.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
