How fast were they going if you needed to drive at 100MPH to catch up with them?
Maybe his eyesight is just incredibly sharp, and he could see them from miles away?

Not really strange, but certainly worrying, but occasionally new users on Pepipoo and other similar sites still apparently believe that you are allowed to exceed the speed limit if overtaking a slow car.

  • Got pulled over for going too 'steady', 50 in 50 mph area, just outside Peterborough.

It was 1.00 AM nothing on the road, so I think he thought I'd been drinking.

Asked what I did for a living, 'Brewery Area Manager' visiting puns for the evening !

But I did not drink and no breath test

Well the Highway Code does say "move quickly past the vehicle you are overtaking".

    Told him I'm Jim Davidson!

Thinking you really are Jim Davidson the officer told you to drink more and drive faster?
Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.
  • Some years back before I reformed, I got stopped after doing about 95mph on a dual carriageway. The policeman asked me why I was speeding and I said it was because it was Friday and unbelievably there was no traffic about so I was happily heading home for the weekend.

Call came over the radio, I had looked sheepish enough, off they went.

    Or given for that matter

Watching Jason manford saying a guy said he sped because he wanted to get a McDonalds breakfast before 10.30am so that would be mine

Here we go again, the pointless thread king strikes again!

They had driven past whilst I was bathing in a natural pool where David was said to have slayed Goliath at Ein Gedi. The desert roads are deserted and on some stretches you can see for miles, but in my case not police cars in lay-bys with radar speed guns. I did eventually catch them up, there was a convoy of six lorries and the tanks looked very business like. My girlfriend was not impressed.
