I've just switched to Sainsbury's Energy via MSE, and was horrified to get a monthly dd of £507. I rang them to express my extreme displeasure. They pointed out that they had relied on the figures I'd typed onto my account on MSE to work out how much the monthly DD should be. (I've asked for DD to be cancelled, per Sainsbury's advice and they will call me next week to discuss what it should be = £100)
I've just looked at my MSE account and there are drop downs for estimates of usage with options of monthly/quarterly/annual. I didn't notice that my annual amount had the monthly flag next to it. (I've now changed it). I'm just wondering how many other people make the mistake of not noticing this.

Very few I imagine - the DD is glaringly obvious.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
