Haha! Certainly don't pay either of them.

When you get the first rejection email or letter re the initial PCN you appealed as driver (OUCH!) make the POPLA appeal really long as per the NEWBIES thread post #3 examples of POPLA points.

In the POPLA appeal, have as your first point the usual thing about lack of grace period allowing a few minutes on arrival (observation period to park up and read the signs) then the mandatory ten minutes at the end. Clearly a mere 11 minutes all told, is perfectly reasonable as grace period allowing for the driving in/out and reading of signs, either side of a 1 hour parked time, which was not exceeded.

    thats fine, use it

Thank you so much for the advice, I've submitted the second appeal relating to the other PCN, I'll keep you all updated on the responses from both.

did you ever appeal to Aldi head office ?

I know you said you paid cash that first day .......

do you shop there often ? if so do you use debit / credit cards there at all?

if so then show Aldi redacted back statements showing patronage ....

do not let this divert you from the good advice being given .....

    good luck

Hi Ralph, no I never took that step only because I found some similar threads from the same establishment and noted others had done this but Aldi had said it was nothing to do with them. I don't shop there regularly unfortunately as it's a city centre store. Thanks for the advice though, hopefully it will get sorted !!

    Where? I can’t see it.

Doh. Thanks - I did a quick skim on this page only!

I don’t think the statement identifies the driver - just that two people purchased items from Aldi. Anyone could have actually driven the car - sibling, relative, friend ...... and dropped the two of them off.

Hi all, just an update I have just received the following email regarding the second PCN I was issued:

    Dear Madam,

In light of your claims, the representations stated in your appeal have been noted and upheld.

We can confirm this Notice has been cancelled in full and no further action will take place on this occasion.

    Yours faithfully,

Thank you all so much for your help and advice I realise you all do this within your own time and I am truly thankful. Just need to get the first one cancelled now which I am still awaiting a response from haha !!
