...but first thing first, need to get mother to cancel the First Utility Direct Debit....
Don't cancel the direct debit too soon. If you are in credit they should use it to provide a refund, if you owe them money they need it to collect.
I transferred to OTM a few weeks ago. The transfer happened without any problems. I got regular emails throughout the process telling me what was happening and when. Easy to register online and submit my first meter readings.
So far, so good.0 -

We have just been invoiced for our February energy, leaving less than £60 balance in the account, our March bill will be over £100, which means, if we cancel the DD, we shall owe FU money. Have discussed this with FU and unlikely we'll have any funds returned, so would prefer to avoid having an excess when I swap goes through.
Can't do anything until next Monday, when we can begin the change-over.
For what its worth, FU are now estimating our yearly usage for the next 12 months at over £1300 - gas usage has been high due to inclement weather - we had more than a week of sub-zero temps where the folks live and a load of snow.0 -
I have signed up for OFTM. The membership fee is lower per month than the standing charge for both elec and gas, and I am an extremely low gas user, just having a gas cooker. They have been communicating very well and the switch takes place tomorrow night. DD is set at £42 per month and BG wanted £80 on my personal projection so fingers crossed all will go well.Woohoohoohooooooooo0

After reading the reviews on both here and Trustpilot I've decided to take a leap of faith and switch from NPower to OFTM. This will save me an estimated £450 per year.
Hopefully everything will go smoothly.0 -
Thats a very large amount to save .
Are you sure figures are right and not just estimates .0 -

OFTM are offering some good deals, however, EDF may have proved cheaper on a 12 month fix in you Switched via Quidco, which is paying £80 cash back. Without any cash back OFTM 18 month fix is coming up the cheapest for me and many others, however, my own saving would be in excess of £300 based on First Utility projected figures, but more realistically anywhere between £15-20 a month. Getting cheaper FU quotes via Energy Club for FU than with FU itself detailed on their bills, or via signing up as new customer.0 -
Anyone know of Energy comparison sites offering cashback on OFTM? I am about to push the button on moving from Iresa (if they will let me
) Cannot be any worst - famous last words

So no comparison sites offering cashback? Tried to switch ran out of switches today - at least they are limiting the numbers to avoid overload. Any ideas when it resets - at midnight or morning? Thanks
OK hmmm it looks like a counter to stop their site overloading - just allowed me to switch. In the words of Jerry Maguire "SHOW ME THE MONEY"0 -

Lowest prices usually mean no cash back or third-party referral fees. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I have just began Switch to OFTM today having been formally notified by First Utility that our Fix is coming to an end and that we cab sign up to new fix at end of contract. OFTM are considerably cheaper on the 18 month fix, about £14 per month based on FU's final yearly estimate and deal offer. Will instruct as Switch moves along, thus far OFTM have answered all enquiries and already discussed issues verbally with their Operations Mangers. Fingers crossed as we've been with OVO Energy and FU for past 6 years - we do lose loss of Smart Meter, but this option is not worth overpaying by up to £15 a month.0
