Seconded. Not what people need to read. I'm a single person living on my own and I NEED to know what I'm paying out, especially in winter. I have a good job but every single penny counts.

You agree that my house should fall down on my head :rotfl:

If the Direct Debit increases in winter and is less in summer your paying the same amount overall. The only reason this would be a bad thing is if you budgeted poorly and have no reserve funds at all. Which if you live on your own is even more important.

People need to realise how close to financial disaster they are so they can do something about it.

Well with an attitude like that i'm not surprised your in the situation your in financially. If you blame all your problems on other people then you will never sort it out.

My _late_ husband you insensitive idiot. Late as in dead. He died and left us with absolutely nothing. I am in the process of sorting it out but it will take a long long time for us to get back on our feet. Now go away.

Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be the case.. my last bill from OFTM estimated annual cost of c.£1000, as part of their change they have magicked up a figure of £1475.

We budget pretty well, but an increase from £98 to £175 a month over the winter is far from ideal. In fact its nearly my whole years consumption.

Additionally, OFTM appear to have changed their T&C recently. prior to October it read as follows; (thanks to way back machine)
14.1

We reserve the right to change your contract at any time.

14.2

We will notify you if any changes are made to your contract.

14.3

If we make changes to this contract that are disadvantageous to you, we will give you 30 days’ notice to let you know about the changes. If you do not agree with the changes, you can switch to another supplier without paying a termination fee.

14.4 Please be aware that none of following constitutes a disadvantageous change:

Changing your payment method.
Increasing additional charges.
Changing or withdrawing any benefits in accordance with this contract.
Increasing the VAT you pay.
Making changes to the contract if we are required by Ofgem’s rules to make them.

Like everyone else I have been given 10 days notice which I reckon in a disadvantageous change...

Anyhow, DD cancelled and switch initiated. I suspect they are going the same way as IRESA.
• I have just switched to Outfox (well, as of tomorrow). I was tempted by them because of their (too low, really) monthly suggest of £50.74/month (it should be around £73 I reckon - I work in the industry, so I understand what I am talking about). Last week, BEFORE THE SWITCH HAD EVEN TAKEN PLACE, I received an email telling me they were putting me on a "variable direct debit" and would be charging me £88.08/month for six months in winter - a staggering 57% increase - and £38.06/mth in summer! From my understanding, the whole idea of monthly direct debits as opposed to quarterly bills is to spread the cost of payments EVENLY ACROSS THE YEAR. Needless to say, my switch is going to be re-switched in the very near future ...

Yes they have over-estimated my annual usage as a result of these Direct Debit changes too and i'm gonna contact them once the initial flurry of complaints dies down to get it adjusted.

I'm not in any rush to sort it though as they are still the cheapest supplier so i'm not planning on switching and the higher Direct Debit will mean i get more cashback!.

I agree with everything the other lady said. You're just rude. DDs work because they're consistent.

I don't have to justify myself to anyone, let alone a keyboard warrior.

So you and alittleowl both think i should be killed by my house falling down on me and have resorted to attempt to insult me personally because you have no logical argument. I have simply presented the facts as i see them without any insults yet you think i'm the keyboard warrior :rotfl:

You still know the Direct Debit amount for every payment it just changes every 6 months. Anyone half decent at budgeting shouldn't have any trouble managing that at all. If it is a problem then it should be a wake up call to get your finances in order.

If you think calling me names is more productive then go ahead as i find it all very amusing.

It amuses you that my husband died? Wow. I mean, really, wow.

Looking at your other posts you're clearly just a full-time troll who gets a kick out of being nasty to people who are suffering through no fault of their own. One day something unexpected will happen to you too.

Just had a read of some of the recent five star reviews on trustpilot. They are clearly fake
I've flagged all the one sentence 5* reviews as fake and a couple of them have disappeared. They're down to 6.6 out of 10.
