  • Hello there, fantastic idea and will definitely spur me on to save an extra 12k towards my mortgage deposit.

Please put me down for 12k.
  • Really exciting to see others squirrel away bits of their money too.

I checked my banking today as I am going to London for a few days and wanted to be sure that I had enough spare cash to dip into. I am just under budget so far and payday is Friday, so I think I am going to have to look over my spending app and nudge myself a bit more next month.

£250 regular saver moved yesterday. I panicked as I totalled up my savings and it seemed less then I had reported a few weeks ago... and then realised £400 was in a Tesco account I’m switching for a bonus. Phew!

To help me keep track: £1000 in regular Hsbc saver, £400 in Tesco switching account, £100 Orbis, £400 Wealhify.

I will check in after payday with the extra I have saved as long as I’m good and haven’t over spent! So far I’ve made over £60 profit this month selling online and will officially be paid my first payrise of £27 after tax. All this will be snowballed into savings.

    Total money saved £1900.
19/12/14: Spent 10 years of savings!!
:heart2: ..... to buy my first home. :heart2:

I don't think you have. I think SF is busy dealing with sleep deprivation having had her second child just before Christmas and she is running a little late. My previous post reassuring someone they are on the spreadsheet was in response to his request to join in post 176 on the thread, and he (she) is the last name listed, from 5th January. You asked to be added in post 234 - she just has not updated us for a while. It is particularly hard as the normal update form is not working as it should. Don't worry. She is very reliable, it is just a hiccough

Im sure she will be back soon, I can fix the update form I just need access to her spreadsheet. We are working on it. I have tried to PM but there is no space in her inbox.

I would update the front page but I want to ask SF first.

For now just keep posting, I am here in the background keeping a little eye on the thread, and I will see what I can do in the interim to help SF a little.

As long as we are all supporting each other, saving, and SF is looking after her little ones, the important priorities are being met. Admin can wait. Thanks to both of you for your efforts.

  • Thank you Westie983 for your hard work. Honestly, for me at least, just having the thread and seeing each other’s progress is the biggest motivator, I don’t need a number or a spreadsheet.

It's a nightmare, isn't it, trying to keep track of all these higher interest current accounts each with a couple of thousand in.

I've got 7 current accounts, all needing feeding /money taking back out every month. Oh for the days when you just bunged it in a single building society at 6%!

I use YNAB to keep an eye on all my accounts and regular savers, dates of maturities and I can see at a glance what account balance is what and when the next regular saver is due to mature.
