You need to explain a bit more...what device are you using to access MSE/browser etc. MSE website is way behind software wise.

I'm trying to edit the body. I can't edit or do anything in the drop down menu that comes up from clicking the little + symbol. I click on anything in the drop down menu and it does nothing.

I am using chrome on android 7.1.1.

I have to click on desktop site on my phone as the buttons don't work via a phone.

Those posts were on the Old MSE Forum, it is entirely different on this new one.
If you have made enough posts to be eligible to edit, there will be small cog like symbol on the right hand side of the bar at the top of the post. Clicking this brings up the choice of Edit or Delete, click Edit to edit.
