I was a big brave soldier today - I booked an emergency appointment with my lovely doctor who reassured me that I wasn't wasting her time and she was more cross I had such negative thoughts about her.

Have you noticed that when we make judgements about others views, we think they will be angry or cross or feeling we are wasting their time? Yet we don't feel that about others. I spent ages getting myself into a real state, such wasted emotion.

So the doctor checked me over, gave me some medicine for my breathing and helping manage the anxiety.

I have managed a few little steps - bought good food, rescheduled the dentist and hygienist appointments and did a little cleaning. Small steps, regularly taken will be the way forward.

Have a great weekend everyone, Take care

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

I like the sound of your doctor! And you are just letting her do her job, you're not at all a time waster. In fact, she would probably be more than happy to see you more, should you need it.

I remember years ago getting signed off work with stress by a lovely doctor, then I didn't see her again for years till I happened to get her for something totally different, and I wasn't even sure it was the same lady. However, as I was leaving I told her I thought she was the doctor who had signed me off work that time, and thanked her - and she remembered! It really brought it home to me that doctors are humans treating humans and she genuinely cared about my welfare. I bet your doctor is the same.

They may sound like little steps but they really matter! I am full of admiration that you can go on moving forward like this - slow and steady winds the race :)

Hi Pauline :) Sorry to hear about your cold and your hips :(

With the squirrel problem I think the only logical explanation is that they were spending all that time tucked up together concocting wonderful, mischievous (and co-ordinated) plans to entertain and confuse you.

Well done on the NSD’s … I seem to be really terrible with them. I’ve managed one or two but nowhere near enough. I’m just quite scatty so always end up forgetting things. Even when I have a list. I manage to either forget to put something on the list, forget to consult the list OR forget I have a list all together. *slap on the wrist* - Must be better for future!

Magnesium flakes are a good shout. Whenever I used to feel achey or feel like I’d pulled a muscle I would have an Epsom salt bath and I really do think it helped. I don’t have a bath anymore but I still sometimes have a wee foot bath. I’m probably kidding myself it still works but I feel good at the time all the same!

Well done on going to the Doctor! It's something that feels irrationally scary for some reason I think. You did really well by going and she sounds lovely. Glad you managed to get some meds that may help.

Little steps are the way forward 100% :)

  • I have done a little bit today again.

I changed the bed, did two loads of washing and did some admin bits. I have two proper meals and enjoyed some grapes as a treat.

Also deep conditioned my hair and did a little fabbing.

Then talked to a couple of friends on the phone. For some reason it's something I find quite difficult.

So I am looking forward to a lovely fresh bed tonight.

In other news, I phoned my ex this afternoon and had an unsatisfactory 10 minute conversation. I still don't know what he is planning. I must admit I cried but a lot of that is frustration. Who knows?

    Small steps are being taken

Thank you for the encouragement, you have no idea how much it means to me at the moment

    Take care
    Pauline

  • Sounds like a productive day, well done! :) I know what you mean about talking on the phone. It's something I find I struggle with... I could message/ text all day but actually talking is a bit much. I did read something about how our brains are programmed to enjoy talking on the phone / speaking face to face as opposed to over message and I was like "... not me!" I've probably conditioned myself to be this way though, hmm.

Sorry about your unsatisfactory conversation - it must be frustrating for you and I'm sorry about that. I hope things resolve themselves for you one way or the other :o
