Natty, I have fulfilled my pledge as my Room of Doom is no longer a Room of Doom but a lovely spare room/office without a piece of gibble in side.
Yay!! :T Go you! :D Seriously, very well done. :o

Not doing so well here; however Mr LW has stripped the bed, and I've washed the bedlinen and it's now out on the whirligig.

Had some sad news yesterday; my old mate JayCloth has trodden Rainbow Bridge. :( However, he was 17, not a bad age for a big Lurcher. He belonged to a former work colleague whom I have stayed in touch with (well, he was her DH's dog originally, but her DH passed away in 2004) His name was actually Jay, but he had a classic case of "cloth-ears" (ie Random Selective Deafness) so I always called him JayCloth.
Run free in the Summerlands, old friend.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Aww, sad news LW run free JayCloth.

    Pigpen truly amazing work.

No snow here, thank goodness. Went to the shops for a wander with DH, DS and GF. Couple of things bought, resisted the urge to buy more for the boys.

Lots of laundry done, managed to get some nearly dried outside. Will need to sort it tomorrow. A good few hours paid stuff done too so a productive day.

Glad the counselling helped Dizzy. Will you be in for Christmas?
  • Himself is back. His part of the tour has finished early, so all intentions of pledges and generally functioning are scuppered.

He's already out tonight DJing some party - and probably wishing he hadn't come home.

I was up at 10am and thought I'd just finish a bit of sneaky internet shopping for Christmas - a pair of trainers and a particular musical instrument he's been saying he wants for two years now.

At 2pm, there was a delivery. He's ordered himself a pair of trainers.

At 3pm, he goes out for bread.

At 3.45pm, he comes back in. With bread. And the musical instrument.

At 3.50pm, he looks like I've just kicked a puppy, because I've sworn at him profusely about how he deliberately screws up every Christmas and every birthday.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Oh dear Jojo it's so infuriating when that happens.
    Great about the windows Lynne
A varied menu of activities today and achieved in my multi-tasking messy way which means that as Mr N is away till Monday I can gleefully do 17 different things as I see fit, clearing up none of them until the very end. Which will be Monday am before he comes back. :
    - one load of washing on line as it was very sunny although cold. Was stiff as a board when I brought it in later (admittedly 5pm)
    - filled bird feeders
    - finished a report, over half way through another and checked a very tricky one a colleague sent me.
    - rang MIL twice; once to tell her what time the fridge engineer was due to arrive, then this eve to find out whether he'd come. He did, after losing the job card down the side of his van yesterday and not turning up.
    - Sweet-talked the librarian into beating up the on-line system that told me yesterday I owed £12 on books I'm 99.9% sure I renewed on line 2 weeks ago. Apparently they had a software upgrade and a lot of things went wrong. Their machine said that today I owed £18 but thankfully she cancelled it all. Books now returned and new ones chosen.
    - bought a couple of presents
    - had a very pleasant afternoon of coffee, cakes and chat at the garden centre with 2 friends, having wrapped their presents in a hurry this am (which required me to take out the 4 large plastic boxes of Cmas things from under the eaves and rifle through them to find wrapping paper and labels. Boxes now all on floor on Mr N's side.)
-wrote a load more Christmas cards while watching Strictly
    - printed off paperwork for a private student I'm apparently seeing on Mon; they booked a while ago but hadn't filled in any of my forms or paid the deposit despite me leaving messages, so I was beginning to think I had another afternoon free to catch up. Seems they are coming after all as their forms arrived. No money yet.
    -washed up

Will spend a bit more time on another report before bed. As no Mr N, kettle sitting on aga ready for me to fill a hot water bottle!

  • Thank you to my secret santa gift has arrived and is now under the tree. Someone from further down the road rang this morning to check who I was after signing for a parcel. He tracked my name down via the phone book after the parcel was delivered to him. (A digit was missing from the address and he guessed the street was correct so searched my surname) once he had established I was me and who the package was meant for he very kindly walked it round.

I posted my cards ♥️ ff this morning 1st class so hoping they will be with you very soon natty. X

Hope everyone is well, I'll catch up tomorrow as I've been out most of today and need to go and pick ds1 up from a gig in a bit.

Morning all. Hope you’re all good today.

I had a bit of a rough night and don’t feel too good this morning but need to get moving soon as we have guests for dinner today.

Need to finish getting washing up to date, change bedding and hoover through and make time for physio exercises.

    Have a great day everyone.

Snow in Hertfordshire and plenty of it. By luck, I made myself a cup of tea early, as by 8am the power was off. It's just come on again so I'm charging up the laptop just in case. All I've done so far is have breakfast, check what I am reading in church and read yesterday 's paper. Lucky we use the village school for services in winter, 5 mins walk away. Keep warm everyone.

  • No snow here thankfully. There was a time when I was excited by a bit of snow but I must be getting old because I just worry about driving in it (and DS driving in it).

Up early. Mountain of clean washing ironed and sorted.

JoJo I sympathise. DS2 has saved from his allowance and put a lot of thought into Christmas presents. Now DH is talking about buying the same thing that is wrapped under the tree from DS and I really dont want to spoil the surprise but think I am going to have to. At least I can do it without DS knowing.

Thinking that I need to fly properly over the next couple of weeks and maybe do a little extra here and there, we have people around on 23rd and I dont want to leave it until last minute.

Presents to wrap, some rubbish to take to the tip and a bag STILL to go to CS.

Same here. We, however, have lots.

If we have a snow day tomorrow I won't get paid, as I am only relief cover in the office and only get paid for it if I show up.:(. On the positive side I can have a lie in.

Anyway, will be a chance to get on with various tasks (on jobs list - clear crap out of dining room! - it's all been 'tidied' into a box.) and get xmas cards written and posted. I've loads of little admin jobs to sort. Whilst I am feeling more positive these days I still find staying on task in the house for any length of time is a huge challenge.

Managed DW overnight, two washloads and two through TD too.

Natty - Flylady cards have been written and were posted Thursday night 1st class so should have arrived yesterday.

We have internal doors, a completed hearth and new porch floor. It is so close girls....sooooo close :T

I survived my counselling session and an now being referred for reprogramming in the New Year. DH was a darling and very supportive and I was surprised to see a few tears brimming at one point.

    Life is good x
Well done .... so glad your doors are on .... almost at the finishing line :j
