** Rant alert (then I'll get back to my progress!) **
DH is lovely but sometimes he thinks that money is never ending especially at the moment, he is mostly on board but like tonight he just can't see the bigger picture. He asked if he could spend £67 on something I can't even remember what something for his computer I think. I said no not at the moment and he got in a strop and said 'I earn £1600 a month and I can't even have a bit of money' I told him hang on there's lots of things that we have to pay for do you want to deal with it! He's not talking to me again properly and he can just lump it, sick of his moodiness when it comes to money, never mind that he brought a game the other day for £30 when he said it would be £20 and he ordered these stupid sweets from China that cost £1.95 for each pack that contained 7 sweets and about the same in delivery costs so near on £7 for 14 sweets
He and ds keep talking about going on holiday and getting a villa in Spain this summer, yeah great but when are they going to save, the kids need passports, I need a passport, plus everything else that goes into a holiday!
I sorted out my cupboard space and clothes today, I have lots of sports kit for work but I have 4 tops, 2 pairs of jeans and a couple of pairs of shoes (seriously) whilst he has lots of t-shirts, shirts, trousers etc.
I think he sees his mate lording it up in London at the moment, seeing a girl half his age behind the back of his long term partner up here (he doesn't agree with that btw) and the next minute he's in the Lake District or Scotland. Whilst we've got a house that needs doing up and can't afford to go out for our anniversary unless I can scrape some money together.
Need to bang his head against a brick wall
Right sorry for that so progress over the last couple of days:
* Been to the tip to take boxes from delivers so less junk in the house
* Sorted out my cupboard space that will be knocked out when we start doing our bedroom. A few things to sell for a few pennies.
* Sold a bike on fb for £15, keeping it hidden!
* Stuck to meal plan and also picked up fish for 10p and 50p last night in Mr T's
* Surveys done, redeemed £10 fro Amazon which I am not adding to balance until I want to use it and small payout of £2.50 when it arrives will go to credit card.
* Sent book so hopefully get a small payment back.
Need to do meal plan and shop tomorrow plus gets out in the garden to tidy up, working Saturday and volunteering Sunday morning then off to Cardiff on Monday ready for tem day on Tuesday so need plenty of fuel for the car.
Keep plodding, H x0 -
Afternoon all, busy day as I wanted to get as much done before work tomorrow and going away on Monday, meal plan and shopping list done up until Thursday using lots from freezer and easy meals for dh to get ready whilst I'm away although he is in fact a better cook than I am. Really pleased that the shop came in at £44, also put fuel in the car for tomorrow but will need to have a full tank on Monday.
Made bread rolls for lunch tomorrow, mine to take with me whilst I'm standing in a muddy field it will be most welcome. I have also got through the mountain of ironing and got kids uniform ready for them going back to school on Tuesday, just need to take ds to have his hair cut on Monday morning and get some new school shoes.
Cashback in today plus survey money so sent over £21.25 to credit card. I haven't done any surveys yet, that's the plan for the evening.

Sounds like you're on fire Hugglemonster sorry DH isn't being that understanding about money. Can you not agree on an 'allowance' for personal spends and what falls in that a category and then when it's gone, it's gone?0

Your sounding busy huggle, just be careful you don't want your back going again.
No advice regarding your DH mine is the same, some days he seems keen on saving money and will moan about the cost of takeaway coffees and on other days he goes out and buys a new power tool for hundreds. I keep squirrelling away what he doesn't know he can't spend.0 -
Morning all, at home today so I'm cleaning the house from top to bottom oh the excitement! After a direct debit was not taken this week due to lack of funds and also watching :money: programme I've taken a bit of action and a slight change in perspective to the debt payments.
We have about £20 to last until next Friday when I get paid but I need to pay for food, fuel and kids lunches so I'm going to have to use the credit card:mad::o I have moved a date of a large direct debit for next month until after my pay day in February therefore leaving a bit extra for a few days. I've also decided to work on the overdraft rather than the credit card as the costs for this are double what I pay in interest on the credit card. I can't get any money transfer or balance transfer cards as MR L suggested so having to do it the tough way.
I'm not sure how to then manage the account, maybe transfer food/spends money into our other account to use during the months and let the direct debits continue to go out of account. Then reduce the overdraft limit every month, I have to phone up each time to do this.
In other news my new session for business started on Monday and I had 3 kids but now have another 3 coming along next week. My first group was low this week so hoping they'll be back next week. I'm going to do a special offer in February to encourage a few more to come, either free enrolment and t-shirt or a session free when they bring a friend. I need to look at registering the business, still haven't paid myself an hourly wage as have a couple more things to pay myself back for from the set up costs. This year when I rearrange my insurance I'll take off the volunteer cover as I don't have anyone helping and it massively bumped up my cost of cover.
It's our anniversary on Sunday but due to no money we're cooking at home and watching a film.
Right I'll be back, the dishes are calling!

Can you not Switch bank accounts (several offers on for this so free cash) they move all the DDs and take the hassle out of it for you and then just keep that account open with an OD and pay a set amount to each month like another debt (including potentially any sign up bonus for a new account) so it's separate. Just a thought.0 -
Hi Purple, I would change accounts but I like my bank and have some good products with them. Iwill work out how much I can reduce it by, certainly want to aim for £200 a month for it to be gone this year.
Had a good weekend dh, kids stayed over at my folks on Saturday night so we watched a film, cooked and had a bit to drink! Back to reality now
I have 2 new kids starting at my group tonight plus a new one for tomorrow which is good, I may need to order some new t-shirts soon though.
Cashed out £5 on receipts app and also I am frustratingly 5p away from a £25 payout on a survey site! Need to do a few surveys today as I haven't done any over the weekend.
Not much else happening, payday is Friday.

Afternoon all, at home today as ds woke up about 6am and was sick so had to stay off school, he is definitely better though and will be back tomorrow.
Pay day finally here tomorrow and can make some more progress, a fair few things to pay for too so need to be careful.
We are excited that we will have a few days away as family in the summer as my brother is buying us tickets to a festival with him and his wife, so we just need to pay for fuel and food for 4 days.
Managed to cash out the £25 so will transfer that to the pot when it arrives, I need to update ynab for the next few days but I really want a separate list of outgoings to keep me on track. CB is in on Tuesday so may phone bank then to do the first reduction of the overdraft.
Busy at work but boring at home, need to make sure we get out as a family but on a budget - a walk costs nothing and we can take our own refreshments!
Taking dd to an open evening tonight about apprenticeships but the company in question is likely to leave the country due to Brexit, it's still 2 years until she is able to do it so who knows what will be happening then.

Morning, another day with ds as he was sick again in the night, really not sure what is causing it as he has eaten the same as us. I don't know if he's getting too hot at night as wearing a thick onesie and a duvet on top?
Pay day at last, I've paid my Mum £91.50 and the installment for dd trip of £150, I need to go over to the bank to get out the cash for my savings pots and food budget for the week.
The open evening for dd was fantastic last night, she is really excited and now has 2 years to get her Maths and Science grades continuing to be a high standard. She loves these subjects so there's no pressure from us, she wants to do well. We're trying to find a STEM club in the area that she can go to and get some practical experiences too.
Another busy weekend awaits with volunteering both days plus we are going to get the bikes in road worthy condition and I want to sort out the garden finally.
Debating whether to ask bank to make reduction on overdraft today or Tuesday, should really just bite the bullet and stop messing around.

Hi H,
Poor DS, there is so much going about at the momentHope he's feeling better soon.
Yay to pay day.
Glad the open day was a success, that's a result.
I'm the same with the overdraft, but trying to convince DH to reduce or get rid is like walking through treacle!
Have a great day xx0
