I find supermarkets don't aid laziness, rather their tastless food requires extra work from moi to render it to have any taste.
Better is local, regional, organic hmmm.0 -
Where they actually the same variety? There are big differences in price for differing types...2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hardly a new phenomenon..... just look at the number of prepared vegetables there are at the supermarket i.e. chopped onions, peeled potato’s etc0

I have quite a strong constitution but dates are one thing I think are revolting
my late OH loved them and I could never see anything in them that was nice .They are sticky sweet yukky things and food for the devil I can't even abide the smell of them Reminds me far too much of the Friday night 'syrup of figs ' routine when I was a little girl and having to line up with my two brothers for a dose of them on a Friday night
:):) Also in our house if you were bad tempered and grumpy it was "dose of syrup of figs for you madam" as my late mum believed it was a cure for grumpiness
:):) No thanks to those that enjoy you are welcome

I'd have rather spent my money on bags of 5 doughnuts at 5/bag for 65p.
Dates... pfft...nasty things.
Doughnuts though ...
You can buy a LOT of doughnuts for £2-4.

Fresh Medjool dates are a different matter entirely. They are soft and deliciously dripping in their own syrup (not that a date will ever be my first choice of food).Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I buy some pre-prepped veg because my hands can't cope with prepping; especially hard veg like squash (I can cope with courgettes, onions are a bit slippery to be sure I won't lose a finger though)
Other times I know between my full time job, the part time degree I am doing, looking after the people I care for, and trying to have some kind of a social life to keep me sane, having a bag of prepped salad that I don't need to think about is most likely to lead to me eating well and looking after myself.
It's the half way house for me between cooking from scratch and ready meals.
Nice you think I'm lazy though."Isn't prepared fruit and veg expensive" might be a kinder thread title. do let me know when you are volunteering to come and stone fruit for everyone else.2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000
