Thank you for the challenge. Overall we've finished a short of target, but a great achievement for us and roll on 2019!
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......
  • #180 reporting £90 for December.

Takes me to £900 for the year which is short of target but not bad for the first year of overpaying.

#30 here... final OP for 2018 of £158.51, bringing my total for the year to £4,100.58 :)
I'm happy with that especially as it means I've halved my remaining mortgage in 2018 (which is big for me but it's an old one and down to the last few years, making this a lot easier).

See you in 2019 (and for those not joining the challenge next year, don't give up, every bit helps).

    Hi all,
We made our overpayments for December but then spotted we were just £260 ish off hitting the £4.5k, so we scraped together a bit more and threw it at the mortgage just after Christmas.

    This has meant December was a bumper £649.27 making our 2018 overpayments total a massive £4,500 :j :j :j :j :j

#20 kittenkirst with £659.27 for December total of £4500

Thanks everyone for these challenges as they keep me on track and inspired to achieve better each year. Here’s to a healthy, happy and content 2019 x
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!
  • Sorry for the lack of updates!

#155 declaring a total for the year of £16,050.25

Now most of this is "virtual" overpayment stashed away in higher interest accounts. Actual overpayments breaks down as:

    January £170.05
    February £170.05
    March £170.05
    November £270.05
    December £270.05

Plus we have an overpayment pot of £15,000. I hope this counts. Way exceeded our target of £6,000 so well chuffed.
