Thanks, pawlala & hiddenshadow
Am going to push on to make £8k total by end of Dec, although have just had notice of urgent (heating) repair needed in BTL property. Ah well!
Am also interested in signing up again for 2019 - ideally with same number, although I will reduce my target to £5K as I'm also saving for a big holidayI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Thanks all for responses. I had thought about a split and doing a bit of both. I have 3 mortgages that make the total in my signature. 2 are on fixed for another 18 months at 2.34% and the largest one is 2.94% fixed for another 2.5 years. I've been overpaying the highest one mostly. I think I will do the save some and smaller overpayment approach for 18 months then re-evaluate when the first fixes are up. I do worry that all my eggs are in one basket and I have one son who I still support. Thanks all 😀Blitz that mortgage

Evening all,
#62 checking in with an over payment of £530 for December.
This will be my final one of the year taking our total over payment to £3390 for 2018.
Hope that this challenge will start again for 2019 as looking forward to continuing to eat into that mortgage.

All up-to-date to here now
I will keep 2018 updated right to the very end, but combined, so far, we have all overpaid over £687,000, more than enough to buy this 6-bed stone build character property in North Wales. With stunning views and enough room for us all to have a MFW2018 New Year's houseparty!!

Unfortunately I won't be able to put my name forward to update hiddenshadow's spreadsheet for 2019 because of work and personal commitments, relocation of job and different working hours being the biggest factors.
But, I hope I’ve done a good job for everyone in MFW2018 since July! I don't *think* I broke the spreadsheet thankfully
I will ask hiddenshadow if there is anyone in mind for 2019 to give Google editing permissions to for the doc. If you have an interest then please let us all know here. There is a few weeks yet before 2019 in order to have a smooth transition to 2019's volunteer!Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!

Hi pawlala,
Thank you so much for your help this year, you've done such a great job! And thanks of course to hiddenshadow for running it in the first place! :heart2:
I would love to put myself forward for helping filling in the spreadsheet (was going to just before you posted, actually) - I love a good spreadsheet, work in data analysis, use Google sheets daily at work, check in to the forum every day anyway (so might as well do something productive while at it), and just generally would love to help keep this going.
But even if you've got other people in mind, hiddenshadow, I'd love to join again next year.
In the meantime: #50 reporting an OP of £4,000, hoping to make one more before the end of the year0 -

Due to a lapse in concentration (:o) I inadvertently made a transfer to my mortgage instead of my regular savings account yesterday morning :wall:
I'll cancel next month's direct debit for my regular monthly payment to 'retrieve' the majority of this, but I'll leave the rest as an OP.
So, #4 reporting an (unplanned) OP of £38.54 - this means I've exceeded my target for the year2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
