Hi,
After a very busy couple of weeks selling our old house, buying a new house, starting renovations and finding a temporary home to live during the renovations - we have been able to make an overpayment
Porting our old mortgage meant we would we reset the 10% (unbeknownst to me)
The new mortgage value is higher than expected as the solicitor mistakenly paid an early repayment fee. But let’s pretend it’s to our advantage as it meant the starting balance was higher - therefore so is the 10% limit. We’ll get the refund back.
In the meantime I’m reporting a August overpayment of £18,198.
Therefore smashing any targets we had and a new 2018 total of £22,587.
So, Pawlala, would you mind updating our figs.
We aren’t able to make any more official OPs for the year but I’m going to call the ERP refund an OP when it arrives (don’t know how much) So expect one more update from us before the year is out.
Thankyou

Not often you see that!!! Great start to your new home, hope you'll be very happy there.
And to reinforce what pawlala said about contacting your 'neighbour' on the spreadsheet if they haven't posted for a while... I had a really nice note back from mine. It's good to know the mortgage-free garden fence is chat-over-able, (IYSWIM) and a bit of encouragement can help someone else make overpayments. I know there was a time when I could have made them and didn't because life was a bit too much to cope with, but I got back on board later and feel as though the finishing post is in sight. So just seconding what you say, pawlala - cheer your neighbour on if you can!

No 81 here with apologies to pawlala for the extra work but I’ve managed to find £1050 to meet this years target
Over the last year it has meant no new clothes, lunches out, haircuts and all the things I took for granted but it’s sooo worth it as I can see the light at the end of the mortgage tunnel, just wish I had seen the light earlier lol0 -
