Can't always respond, as much as I always admire you all... my sister has been diagnosed with an illness which is genetic. I don't exactly know who to worry about now

patchwork cat, I don't take them back usually, just off my list, after doublechecking what we have in, then triple checking hiding places. I seem to do a meal plan with what I know we have in, write a shopping list of what I think I need, then find I have several items already in the cupboard or freezer that I have written on the list, previously I would have just bought them then when packing away seen I had them already. I still do sometimes buy things I have already, usually when my hiding places are too well hidden.

When getting deliveries I don't mind Asda substitutions as I buy cheaper stuff and they tend just to send the more expensive one (I got 30 bottles of Pantene for 30p each last year when I put 33 instead of 3, then they only had 3 value shampoo so they sent 30 of the Pantene which was £3 a bottle ish, I paid for the value :D) but I refuse if it's something I won't need, like if they sent me celery, yak! They can take it back.

Morwenna, thinking of you, must be very worrying.
One day I might be more organised...........

    Evening all

D&DD Sympathy for your bad day ....sounds like you really had your hands full.

morwenna so very sorry to read your post, hope you're ok.

lil_me so kind of you to share your ice cream with me last night, will return the compliment tomorrow when I MAKE some in my new ice cream maker, bought today on special offer (damaged packaging so half price :j)...Sadly (haha!) I found this wonderful bargain AFTER I had bought the donut maker I went out to get after reading D&DD's posts and looking at her pictures, so ended up spending more cash than I meant to.....had to go to the cinema with DH and DS2 in the afternoon so I could sit in a darkened room and recover from the shock :o:o:o . Just to compound my spendthrift ways, we passed a Lidl on the way home and felt compelled to have a stock up of flour etc. I am a very bad girl :naughty:

Morwenna so sorry to hear your news have you got to go for tests now too?PM me anytime if you need to talk :(

Babychick lol I'm the last person to ask for time management tips..I tend to lurch from one crisis to another and run around like a headless chicken *pardon the pun* the rest of the time :rotfl: ..thats when I'm not sitting here reading and scoffing choccie :D

MrsB lol you're as bad as us with your 'housey' xmas list..it's a relief to know I'm not the only one who does this :o

Lolly will go vote in a mo :D

Yategirl ... now come on confess were you really that well behaved :rotfl: Did you really only buy one thing ???;) :D;)

Luna re the doughnuts I think when people talk about them being unhealthy it's when they are deepfried in oil..This little gadget works with no oil and is rather like a toasted sandwich maker..you fill it with a batter and can do them with the tiniest bit of sugar so they are actually quite healthy compared to a lot of cakes :DHTH Dee

Oh I would have got you one lil_me if there had been another one...really I would. donut maker was Argos £13.32 and the ice cream maker was a Philips Delicia (the one with the disc you freeze instead of a bowl so doesn't take up much room in freezer). That was from Lakeland for £17.49 instead of £35 :j Ooooh and I almost forgot, I got a microwave crisp maker reduced to 99p as well....been a good day all told! Made some donuts and they were gorgeous...used D&DD's recipe though (thanks!!:T) as it was easier to follow than the one in the book that came with the machine, AND she gave it in English instead of that funny foreign language of grams and milliwotsits.

When I sew I always use inches and yards and feet too (although I can convert it to cms at least if needed,no chance of that with kgs unless I look it up!):o

    morning all!

im glad i got out in the garden yesterday as it is pouring down today! i will probably spend today in the kitchen, i need to make rolls and cake for lunchboxes.

the uniforms need ironing too. luckily i never cook a roast on a sunday as DS1&2 go to their dads all day, so will have to make something else for ds3&dd to eat. dunno what yet though:D

i need to get the bacon out of the freezer today as i want to make a quiche tomorrow, will be making a chilli then too.
