It goes in the oven on a greased baking tray with no foil on.Allow to cool and then drizzle with glace icing or if you are going to freeze it dont ice it and wrap it in foil and plonk it in the freezer

Okay, I'm seeing a pattern here... I have never menu planned, my own tactic is to buy all store cupboard items and then get the meat/fish ingredient reduced to clear on my way home from work. So it's more like ready steady cook! :rotfl: Tonight I have "posted" RTC mince in freezer, I have RTC turkey pieces in pressure cooker, along with garlic, provencal herbs, fridge veggies stock & tinned toms and rice cooking (from the store cupboard.)

The cats, btw, are frantic as there is a big silver hissing thing in the kitchen... :rotfl:

So do we think I would be better getting up early and putting stuff in the SC?? (I already get up at stupid o'clock..) and saving possible future feline trauma and eating earlier?? (I am out of the house from 7:30am to 6:00pm)

I put double stuff in the SC at weekends,(and freeze extras) but there could be a time to eat "saving" if I thought I wasn't out of the house too long to put SC on in the mornings..

When I make the braid I tend to wrap in foil - if I don't it cooks too quick. I bake it on a silicon mat thingy.

I made two banana loafs today - followed the instructions to a t (as opposed to just shoving it all in the mixer!) Looked and smelled fantastic - then took it out of the oven and the whole things collapsed.....

What did I do wrong??? And what can I do with a sunken banana loaf...

Does it taste okay? Or if it is too sunken - banana pudding (cake) and custard is born! Do you think you may have taken it out a bit too early? Cakes need to be as bouncy as pressing your finger to your forehead when pressing your finger on the cake, and they will also have shrunk away from the edges of the tin IYSWIM

    MHE.. bean burger recipe! http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2535/beany-burgers-with-basil-tzatziki

I used mixed cooked beans (approx 250g, had cooked myself) and used bog standard tom puree. Dried herbs as my thyme smelt like old hay! I have another recipe that I will try and find, think it uses chickpeas. haven't done this for ages, so might take a while to locate.

it was supposed to be in for 1 hr 15, but was looking very brown at the hour mark, so took it out just after that - had second thoughts - covered it in foil then put back in again - must have been too late....

Morweena - thank for the other tips though.
