Good News - OH didn't lose his job, however, he has been given jobspec of his new duties and it is taking the mickey! He now has two jobs combined plus go out and make deliveries, empty bins etc - and he has to start work an hour earlier (5:30am). They have said they will review the job in April and might give him a backdated payrise - normally their payrises are 2-3% so we shall see what happens, I feel OH had no option other than accept their deal so he will be upping his efforts to find a new job...
I have been awake 4:50am - stomach playing up something rotten from the stress, at work today/sunday so I hope you are all having lovely weekends
Dinner yesterday was spag bol - 1/2 frozen for a later dinner. We are off to my Dad's for dinner today so no cooking - although saying that Stepmum is terrible cook and we often end up having to buy a takeaway on the way home as we are starving LOL!
Greenflag cover all sorted on the car £6 a month, so ClubCard vouchers safe for a rainy day/emergency shop
take care, donna0 -
Glad that your OH's job is safe. Sounds as if they're taking the opportunity to get good value out of him though. Try and relax a bit today and let your tum settle."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Donna, glad the job is safe for now but it does sound like they're trying it on! hope he finds something else soon. Its been a worrying time for you, no wonder your tum is playing up - look after yourself,... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Hi
Hugs to Donna & family, hope things get better for you.
D&DD, I'll be thinking of you & hope things improve soon, this thread is inspirational.
I made a casserole in the SC today, it's all the stuff left in the fridge, including, a pork chop, half a tired onion, half an even tireder red pepper & some left over new pots. I decided it needed something to give it more flavour, but couldn't find anything interesting to add. I ended up adding a squirt each of tomato ketchup & brown sauce & now it tastes really yummy.

Hello there, have just started to read this amaaaaazing thread, but it is sooooo long so may take me a while. Can I be cheeky and ask for the bakewell recipe that seems to have been mentioned a few times of late, haven't had one of those for absolutely years, but I need one right now - I do, I do. Thanks.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Hi AlwaysHappy! The bakewell recipe is post 482. I hope that helps0

I made the beef and bean pie - (I think jcr16? posted the recipe many pages ago? apologies if I've remembered that incorrectly) - it was delicious - I made mash rather than the potato slilces - amazingly DD polished off her own dinner and then some pie - am amazed she's refused to eat shepherds pie for her entire 7 3/4 years lifetime - so thank you v much! OH helped himself to seconds and the rest seems to "disappeared" into his lunch box - shame as I doubled up thinking I could freeze half
My Mum turned up after school this afternoon, she arrived before we got home from school, found her on the path salivating - she'd peeped through the kitchen window and could see all my home baked goodies - she tucked into the hobnobs, pizza braid and cherry bakewells - she even took 3 home with her - so I only have 2 mini ones left and about then my friend popped in and took 4 hobnobs and 1/4 of the bakewell tart - everybody suitably impressed and I am giving myself a large pat on the back
So tomorrow is D-day and hopefully we will be out of our misery - OH has made a couple of calls tonight to see if anybody has any work going - has come up with a couple of leads....roll on tomorrow, doubt I shall sleep tonight - think I will search a few more recipes
