thanks kathry. the dog gets through the holly hedge at the side of our garden.
I do hope that you get things sorted son - i too would focus on complaining about teh health implications so as to try to scare teh council into acting.
Re fence - our garden is enclosed by hedges with metal rods and chicken wire running around it all to make it dog proof - this may work around your holly and would be cheaper than a full fence.0 -
i've been baking.
i've made some jam tarts , ran out of jam so some are cornflake crunch. which is somethign my mum used to do. basically broken up cornflakes with a little golden syrup mix into cornflakes. take care not to voer bake tho , otherwise it like toffee, which is still nice tho.
i also made some mini bakewell's. forgot to add the almond to the spongy bit. so i made almond flavour icing.
i made then in the muffin tin i had.
and finally, this is like a bit bakewell, but instead of jam i used mincemeat i had left over from xmas which i didn't use. not sure what it will taste like, but i like to experiment.0 -

I have just finished reading this whole thread, taken a week! It is fantastic and you lovely ladies are such an inspiration.I have made the onion marmalde(all gone). My two year old who hates onions thinks its jam and has it with his cheese sarnies.Am trying to do a meal plan.Thank you for all the tips. Need to reduce my household spending. We are struggling to live within our means.
P.S I want a bread maker,a donut maker and a slow cooker and I want it all! No wonder my budget never survives! Must stop visiting the Lakeside website. Which one of you lot do I blame for putting me on to that? :whistle:0 -

I spent ages typing a reply last night at work but lost it.
We use pepper to deter cats- or chilli powder. Shove it down where they tend to go and they will stop.
I hadn't thought of looking in argos (dur!) for my new bm.
I was kind of going for the MR from tesco for £49.99 but am now torn.
I knid of want one that does bread and jam and cakes but need it to make decent bread. I was reading the other thread about bms and getting twitchy.
I'm shattered so I'm off to bed. I'll try to get some pics of my kitchen up when I get my satnav back on Sunday.
It's been in for just over a year but is still not tiled nor is the plinth up or the cornicing, or the light switch. Oh and the radiator isn't connected so we can't put the surround round the door. Paint the door step.
Hmm, not much left to do!!

We use cous cous for an alternative to rice salad, add cooked chicken chopped, goats cheese, sundried tomatoes diced cucumber etc.0
