  • Glad to see you're up and at it again, Dee. You'll soon have that kitchen ship shape again. Hold your breath that the others don't go down with it or it'll be the nurses outfit on for you. ;)

    morning all.

well lounge is nearly done. but it is at a point now where we are goona leave it for xmas.

new oak floor is laid all wall painted apart from chimey breast as that need's plastering or something. New curtains should arrive tomoz. Xmas tree is up. although only has lights on it. as it is a snow tipped one and has fir cones on it. plus hubby not had time to get to loft to get dec's down.

i amd gonna do some baking today when head ache shift's. then sort out kitchen. pull everything out and clean under it.it time again to clean oven. i generally do it every 3-4 week's. but not done it for about 5 week's. i find if i do it often it really easy to keep on top of.

i've nearly wrapped all my pressie. hubby and i popped out yesterday faternoon with kids just to buy a few stocking filler for his parent's. and by time came home i had 3 black scaks full of pressies to wrap. whoops. oh well. tis only xmas once a year.he he.

i am so looking forward to seein what xmas gadgets and goodies santa brings me. i am so hoping he brings th donut maker , pasta maker and waffle maker. as i been struggling not to buy them. i just wanna get experimenting. lol. but think i am seriously needing a bigger kitchen to store everything in.
  • I've just bought myself the waffle iron from Lidl, that a few of you have been talking about, and now i can't find the recipe on here to make them

the one in the booklet says to use buttermilk and other stuff that you wouldn't normally have in the cupboard, and i was sure i saw a dead easy recipe on here somewhere!

any ideas on what toppings you can have as well? i can only think of treacle, honey, ice cream and fresh fruit

    thanx :D
  • hi mandymoo....waffle makers are great, my favourite topping is stewed apple (although i like it so apples aren't too soft, a little crunchy) with raisins and cinnamon - it is quite christmassy too, also you can serve maple syrup and vanilla ice cream with them....go down a treat.
they are also good with savoury fillings, scrambled egg & salmon for a treat is my favourite, but not very mse!
    Enjoy

Well it's taken me and my little 'helper' DS3 most of the day to sort out the kitchen seeing as we had to try out every gadget we came across in the process :rotfl: He had fun though and we got the job done now I just have to do the firdge and freezers tonight as my darling MR T is arriving tomorrow :j :j :j
I am sooooo excited drooling over the thought of overflowing...everything :D and the bread flour was still going cheap so I've bagged erm *a few* :o

WOW what a nice friend! :D Glad you are feeling better :) as for dh's not putting stuff away in the correct place.... that is my bugbear! My 3 year old knows better than dh where everything goes... I hate having to reorganise everything after dh has been in the kitchen!!!

Just popped on to wish you all a Merry Christmas... we are off for a few days and I am not sure when I will get back on... I hope santa brings all of you all the gadgets you wish for!
  • i love my slow cooker and dont know what i would have dne without it since my little one was born, my fav is chilli i stick everything in (onions, mince, tintoms, kidney beans & baked beans and powder) and just leave it for hrs, also beef stew beef, carrots, onions, parsnips, tintoms, stock, swede, potatoes etc) and again just leave it on. I dont cook my beef or mince first but always brown chicken off. You can cook everything including whole chickens(i havent done this though). Hope thats helpful
  • wow d&dd, with all your gadgets i was sure you'd have a slow cooker:D . i'm sure you will find it a fab addition.
