For kethrey, taurusgb, D&DD and the others interested in stockpiling, I made the post I promised you all.0

I haven't got one, our council don't even collect green waste here, just paper, glass and cans. Those do look a good idea but our food waste is now quite minimal. Plastic (no recycling facilities) tetrapaks & cardboard (have to drive it to recycling centre) are our main wastes now.
I didn't think about the spaces getting booked up earlier Dusty, time isn't too much of an issue for me, the meat order is done through the farm shop which I can collect on the weekend before or Xmas eve. I'll use the local F&V shops. Still need the other things however...one question if I order from Tesco or Asda now for December will it come out of the bank now or when it's delivered?
**Runs to Tesco online to put an order in**
ahhhhhh retail therapy!!One day I might be more organised...........

you've beaten me on white sugar as I am on my last bag but I have one or more of every other type I think from preserving sugar to light and dark muscavado, plus everything in between, love those baskets with the handles Rhonda, look very useful, I have similar baskets but without handles.

I was embarrassed to admit that I'd not stripped the chicken so I went and did it. I then chucked all my left over lentils in and put the sc on with the stock. I've stuck a loaf in the bm but forgot to add any linseeds.
The loaf will be ready at 1am so I'll be able to do some sultana bread tomorrow.
Fridge is still well stocked. I 1/4 the chicken and put 3/4 in the freezer to stop anyone picking at it!! So ..... I've forgotten what I was going to say!
Who had the sc problem- does it work if you turn the lid upside down?Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
"*deep breath*...my name is morwenna and I'm a sheetaholic..."
How disappointing about the jam, was the fruit dry and sound? I've had raspberry jam go off because I used less than perfect fruit. (Or so I was told by a friend's grandmum.)
welcome to BLA, morwenna.. you're amongst friends here.. (sheetaholic.. i like it!)
re: the jam, a couple of them i think the lids weren't screwed on tight enough cos they were very very easy to unscrew. It was a strawberry preserve, delia recipe, the idea is that you keep the fruits whole, suspended in the jelly.. i think i didn't quite hit the setting point cos the jelly was very liquid and the strawberries just floated to the top. I meant to reboil to rehit the setting point but never got round to it and.. the inevitable happened. Pooh. At least i didn't make a lot though, that's a plus. Oh well!Don't worry about that Keth can I join too lol..my 'linen cupboard' is half an airing cupboard full of stuff balanced on top of the boiler at a very precarious angle
of course you can, darlin, heck, its your thread!!! (besides i think the pile of stuff balanced at a precarious angle is kind of obligatory, i have one in the bedroom that is my ironing pile..)
And yes, you can move into the village.. and you, Kaz9204!! although.. only 2 sets for each bed? shame on you!!! seriously though. how'd you cope with only 2 sets.. we have 2 sets here, i daren't get any more cos its a super king size bed, they're expensive, and i don't have anywhere to put them when they're clean/ironed (hence why i was crying over the linen cupboard in the first place..)!! a good laundry system?

Anthea style, isn't that the putting all the pillowcases, duvet cover and sheet inside one of the pillow cases? I've done that for ages someone said it was 'Antheas' way. My Nana always did it. Makes it easier to store and to find everything when you want to change the bed. We have 2 sets for our bed, should have 3 duvet covers but I don't know where the other went when we moved. I have lots of sets for the boys beds, they need them as they wet the bed a lot.
Oh, added a gadget must, Raclette cheese someone posted about, well Lidl's have the Raclette grills for £9.99, I've wanted one for ages, I had one ordered for £39.99 from somewhere but they sold out and I didn't reorder, so guess where I will be on Thursday morning after the school drop offs trying to get one!!!! Hmm, where to put it...hmmmm.....I think there might be a space under my bed :rotfl: need to reorganise kitchen next week to find a space as I MUST have one.One day I might be more organised...........

her kitchen is pretty good, i like it a lot. But the kitchen i *really* want belongs to my MIL. my OH keeps saying to me (as a joke) "'c'mon, we'll kill my parents, bury them in the garden, get the kitchen"... and i'm so tempted.. black granite tops. lots of cupboards with all divided storage and stuff. large 5 ring cooker. matching equipment. large fridge. small freezer (bigger ones out in the garage). breakfast table. senseo. coffee machine. orange juicer. smoothie maker. bread maker. microwave. *swoooooooooons*.

the kitchen itself isn't in the UK, its somewhere in the Netherlands. If you mean pictures of it.. since its not my kitchen i'm not 100% comfortable with putting up pics of it without at least asking my parents-in-law.. i don't want to upset them!!! or if you mean Rhonda Jean's kitchen, who's lovely kitchen we were originally talking about before we got onto the kitchen i would cheerfully kill for - that, you can find here.
