They currently have a sale on, casserole dishes are £17.50 reduced from £35. Might be worth a look.
I can second this. I bought a cream one a few years ago in the sale using my nectar points so cost me nothing.
To be honest, it sat unused in my cupboard a for a long time and then when we tried the Gousto food delivery company, it has come into its own.
A lot of the recipes use one pot on the hob and it works brilliantly so now rarely a week goes by without us using it. Easy to clean as well!Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
My pots are Le Creuset and they are good, but I think you can get really good pots on one of the shopping channels, Ideal World or QVC, not sure which, I don't really watch them, but I have seen some really good, own brand cookware on one of them with a lifetime guarantee, for a really good price.
Well, I have sorted all my books, outing 3/4 of them, along with 3 guitars and just have a set of drawers to go through and thats the lounge emptied. Tomorrow i'm gonna do my bedding, toiletries & bric a brac (not really got too much bric a brac - if any) and maybe tackle some clothes.0 -
I have a Denby cast iron casserole dish which I love. Also a stoneware cast iron pot for the hob or oven. Both are used a lot. So worth the money.
I've been thinking and this year just needs to be about 'less'. Less spending, Less rushing.Less pressure.
I've done a few jobs I've been putting off. I've sorted out kids outgrown clothes and shoes and allocated either to the bag of things I keep for younger ones to grow into or into a charity pile.
O have three bags for the charity shop.
Spent some time baking and cooking. Made soup and bannana oaty muffins and managed to freeze quite a bit.
Determined not to go into a shop until Friday night when I'll nip out for a few bits.
Planning on making broccolli and stilton soups tomorrow. Have two broccolli unopened that I bought for Xmas and unopened cheese. May make some bread.0 -
Good morning! (from Australia
)
Today I really need to work on getting my garage cleaned out so I can park in there (storm season here, good chance of hail ). I've decided to just set myself a timer for an hour and make myself do that, and then if I feel like doing any more, I will keep going. Getting started tends to be the hardest part.0 -

I'd second this, I have a couple of Sainsburys ones that I have had for several years, used a lot and still in perfect condition, and they come in lovely colours0 -
I have spent far too much of my time today trying to take back control of my email account through unsubscribing. I will have to just unsubscribe as they come in from now on
I'm slowly taking down the festive decorative 'clutter' and I'm feeling clearer.
That's just what I'm doing , unsubscribing from emails as they come in.
In terms of technology I have got into a bad habit of being on my tablet and watching television at the same time ! So I'm not giving my full attention to anything. So my new years resolution is to concentrate on one thing at a time and also to reduce the amount of time surfing on the internet
I can't wait to get the decorations down now they irritate me once Xmas is over, but the rest of the family love them so I surreptitiously start taking stuff down bit by bit so they don't notice0 -
I too am guilty of using i-pad in front of the T.V. concentrating on neither. When I now watch T.V. Intending to focus, I can't believe what the temptation to be on the pad feels like, it's a really powerful pull. (More like addiction really).0

I have had a Le Creuset casserole for about 25 years. It probably has 25 left
Mine is 37years old! Lovely piece of kitchenware but Le Creuset is heavy as well as expensive! Lucky enough to have been given (as a wedding present first time on the marriage trail - 2nd husband has put up with me for 25 years and shows no signs of flagging!) a five piece lidded saucepan set and 2 frying pans together with the casserole. I love them but they are getting heavier as the years go by.
K.Mack, my tuppence worth is that ‘empty’ weight is probably a good place to start and of course the magic “do I love this”!

By the day after Boxing Day I,m itching to take the tree and decorations down but my Oh likes them so I compromise u TIL New Year’s Day and then down they come. I’ve got a fair number of unused Christmas cards and second class stamps left ove from this year,s exercise so have counted them up, put them away in a box and made a note of the number in stock for next year,s December 1st diary so I kn9w how many to buy for next year.
January 1st will see a diet and Dry January so it will be a mixed blessing, but good discipline, especially if I can persuade OH to join in the challenge.0 -
Evening everyone
So many newbies, great, the more the merrier!
Just resisted the temptation of IK€@... My sister went to pick up a few things and asked if I wanted to come along. Almost said yes as I do need two things from there, but I knew that I would walk out with some nice candles and other things I don't need in the end. So I just told her to get some lint roller and a roll of wrapping paper for me. Avoided the temptation and probably saved quite some cash...
Tidied the basement yesterday, wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Only binned a few small things, I guess I nowdays bin stuff straight away instead of throwing it down there first... Have two bags of books I no longer want which I intended to keep for the local librarys book exchange. Basically you can bring books and take as many as you want home with you . I inteded to bring loads and take none home... But I just saw in their programm that there won't be one this year and I will not keep the books till summer 2019, so I will see if I can sell some online and get the rest to the tip.
I also spend ways too much time watching useless stuff, although I think I recuded it quite a bit in the last few months. At the moment I often just sit and listen to the radio while I knit. But certainly need to keep on track!
Sistercast, you could do something with your hands while watching a movie. I often watched movies/series and was reading/surfing/writing mails at the same time. One day I went out and bought myself a cross stitching pack and started stitching while watching movies. Like this my hands were busy but I could still focus on the plot.
Have a lovely evening everyone! I will knit and watch The Halcyon, recommended to me by one of our trainees. I mentioned my love for 40ies music and she told me I should watch the series.Fashion on the Ration 2022: 5/66 coupons used: yarn for summer top 5 /
