    Point still stands. Bye.
Clearly the facts disagree, but I'm glad you've resigned not to argue it any further.

Nah. Happy to resign. Waste of time.

It doesn't matter. Bitcoin is completely decentralised, free from fraud, free from manipulation (the actual token) and has the most verifiable and unalterable ledger on the planet, that is what gives it it's value. 99% of Alt coins are complete scams anyway and the 1% that are not suffer from never being able to be entirely decentralised which is the entire point. Bitcoin will revolutionize the entire planet and there is nothing anybody can do to stop it. It's going to become the worlds reserve. There cannot be a competitor created.

If you don't understand or you feel threatened by it then hate all you want. You will regret it in the years to come.

I share your view. Most of altcoins are just copycats. Absolutely no value to the space. It's similar to Linux world. There is hundreds of distros, but there is maybe only a dozen worthwhile ones. Even then, most of them are forks of just a few major, most important ones. We see same thing in crypto arena.

There is amazing interview to listen on this topic. I recommend everyone to listen to it, before you "diversify" your portfolio into dozens of worthless shitcoins.

  • Alts take much greater management, often watching developments much closer vs Bitcoin. Becoming a crypto day trader is often the reality of getting involved in alts.

The hedge funds certainly seem to be having fun with their futures contracts.

Just need it to go another 5% and then I can sell all those lovely converted freebies from Coinbase and Blockchain and pickup the Coinbase referral bonus. :cheesy:

On the contrary, it is reported the shorting started on Tuesday. It is likely the strong rises on Wednesday forced some of the shorters to get burned and close out their positions.

I'd speculate recent movements are the result of press coverage of the Zuck-buck, but people haven't realised this is just a blockchain enabled fiat currency. Interestingly, that does seem to have caused waves through the electronic payment sector, with one provider, Circle, deciding to pull its product out of the market.
