If you could cancel Christmas, would you?
Christmas is nearly here. For some it conjures a picture of family, fun and festive frivolity; for others it means stress, present pressure, debt and chores.
So if you had a CANCEL CHRISTMAS button that'd make the whole thing disappear (and just add days to your holiday entitlement), would you press it?

There are many more attitudes to Christmas than just these two!!!!!
Debt 5/1/18 - Credit Cards £3,188; overdrafts £0
I am really looking forward to Christmas as all my dds, my son in law and two of dd's boyfriends will be staying over at some point. I did most of my shopping online as I don't want to battle the crowds and long queues.
I downsized when I lost DH but still have spare bedrooms so family can stay over. The conservatory has a big dining table in it and a couple of portable heaters make it quite cosy.
Everything will be flexible - there will be food and beds made up and everyone can do whatever suits them. DDs will help with cooking and we will play some board games, watch some tv if they fancy and have some catch up conversation and just relax and enjoy each other's company.
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
Preemie hats - 2.
The hard part is always convincing people that I have nothing at all to do with the event in any way shape or form.
Said I might not put decorations up this year
Her response "why not you always do"
I said we might not have turkey
" oh you have to I love Christmas dinner"
and
"When are we going to choose the tree?"
Oh yes, she hates Christmas.
!!!!
A quick look online and I cannot find any vote or discussion to cancel any other religion's festivals... but I guess Christians have been persecuted since the time of Christ. Even more reason to keep Christmas... not in the shops but in our hearts!
It's GREAT that everybody has a shared focus - and most/many will know they have XYZ days off, all at the same time, so people can get together without having to wonder if they can book time off work.
It's great that there's something to talk about that everybody shares and can participate in ... unlike most conversations where people are struggling to find anything in common to talk about.
