Loving the jungle Toff and Stanley are my favourites but Amir made me LOL last night when he asked Ant and Dec if this was a task

I'm loving it too. Probably enjoyed it more than the other series they have produced. Stanley and Toff are my faves too. Becky, well she's got that permanent scowl on her face and i find it hard to like her. She's a woman you wouldnt want to mess with.

Im expecting a visit from Prodigal. A letter which looks like his bank card is here. I really need to find out how he is doing and what he up to but i wish i wasnt on my own.

Something to confess.... i ate a whole cake yesterday.:rotfl: Think i will have to go hungry today to make up for it.:o
My passport is about to expire and I filled out the form to renew and it said it was £75 for a new one.. that can't be right, is it?

I think you will find it is £72.50. Grumps passport has expired too, he needs to get it renewed too in case they try and deport him again.:D

    Morning everyone,

Had a bit of a lie-in today followed by a good, long soak in the bath, if possible am even more aches today, guess it will take a few days to all come out, might be getting too old for all these shenanigans :D
I need to get into town to visit the opticians today, am hoping they can take the lenses out of my broken frames and put them in new ones as they are the most expensive part.
Apart from that it's the normal chores, I have taken some mince out of the freezer so will bulk that up with lentils etc to make a topping for a baked potato so nice easy tea.

Wishing you all a good a Monday as possible.

Morning all - busy time today. Had a nasty collision yesterday and sorting out insurance company and legal firm. It's my first every collision so it's all new to me, luckily it's a no fault one on my side. Police were very helpful!

I'm OK, just achey and mad as a mad thing!

Oh no Gers ...how are you...its a nasty shock isn't it. Assuming you are OK but watch out for delayed shock. Try to chill a bit today x
  • GERS speedy recovery for you and your aches and pains. Sympathy vibes heading your way.

I am also mad as a mad thing but for different reasons! I put in Mr TA's scrip request last week for a repeat of his Oramorph. This was originally prescribed by his Oncology Consultant and he gets repeats off his GP. He only takes when absolutely necessary and as the bottle has to be used within 2 months there is quite often some left in the bottle to throw away. Phone call from the surgery this morning saying a GP wants to speak to him about his request and he has a telephone appointment booked for tomorrow. I can imagine this will be some doctor who doesn't know him or anything about his history, other than what he can see from the correspondence from Leeds. I shall be livid if there is any mention of stopping his repeat. I am getting angry before we know why he wants to speak to him! Mr TA is wound up too as he hates speaking to people he doesn't know on the phone and gets in a flummox. Grr!

Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible xx

TA let us know how you get on.

I had a pleasant moment about an hour ago. My nice Postman rang the bell this morning. "Ive decided" he said "When i deliver your post i am going to ring your bell twice and you will know youve got post". He was telling me the other day that people are stealing post out of external letterboxes, such as the one i have on our gate.

    Such a lovely thought. :)

    Dumpling how was your weekend?

  • I haven't been on here for ages , time poor and lots going on .

Spotted your post TA . I've heard of a lot of people getting those medication checks . Youngest is on Zomorph and Oramorph and has been for a number of years . She hasn't had the checks but sees only her named doctor two weekly and he has shared care with the main consultant . It seems there are two things happening one checking if the med is still needed and also if there is a cheaper alternative , those cuts again !
I don't think Mr TA will have problem with his history . If he struggles on the phone with these matters it may be worth asking him if he would prefer you to become his medical appointee to act on his behalf . I've done it for years for my daughter and it can take a lot of stress out of the situation . Take care both of you xx

Dumpling thinking of Becky , yourself and the rest of the family . I could have written your recent posts 15 years ago . It sounds as though she's in safe hands and with the love you all have she'll find her way through . Patience and love will get her there .
Well done to you on the progress you have made personally . You sound a different woman from when I was last posting .

Hugs to any worried or struggling . Take care all and stay warm .

    polly x

I'm glad you've posted. I was worried about your drive home yesterday. I'm sorry you're aching - be prepared for it to get worse. A lot of people joke about "whiplash holidays", implying that people claim compensation for whiplash when they're not actually too badly hurt. Those people have probably never had whiplash.

You look after yourselves too Lainey and Hollyharvey. Don't be trying to do too much too soon.
  • Hi Polly nice to see you back on here again. It's been a while. Thanks so much for posting.

I had already said to Mr TA ask the doctor if I could speak on his behalf and he said he would. When he was under the Royal Liverpool for the 12 months treatment there they were always happy to speak to me. In fact if Mr TA answered the phone they asked to speak to his secretary! Ha ha. The surgery, however, are a law unto themselves so will see what their verdict is.

After a manic morning with the girls, getting giddier by the minute, I put on Annie after lunch and they are all sat transfixed. Peace at last. I know they have seen it before but they are all glued to it!

Easy tea for us once DD has collected them after work about 4.30. Pork left from yesterday which I sliced into the gravy for reheating with the l/o mash and veg.

Take care all and thanks again Polly xx
