Sadly with Android its turning out to be not such a bad idea given the number of dodgy apps there are in the Play Store. In the months running up to Epic releasing Fortnite on the Android platform there were several malware that came out purporting to be it, one or two even making it to the Play Store for a short period before being pulled.
Nope .
Apps on android cant access each others memory space so any "antivirus" is snake oil pure and simple.
It just cannot scrutinise the behaviour of another app, it doesnt work like that.
So although rogue apps pop up in play store from time to time, exhibiting unwanted behaviour - nothing you can install on your phone can interfere with that behaviour full stop.
Also - bear in mind - that these rogue apps can only do what you the user give them permission to do during install.
That torch app requesting permission to access your contact list ? or to send and receive sms ??
Why's that then ?

Guess this isn't spam as there's no product link? Anyway, strange post. If you're referring to the protection of data, aren't you talking about ransomware? In which case Mcafee on its own won't help. Perhaps you're refering to Mcafee Interceptor which is (was?) Mcafee's suggestion to avoid a ransomware attach. I've no idea whether its any good.McAfee security software helps the users to secure their data in their computer.0 -
Give a try to Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2019 or Norton AntiVirus Plus. It really worked well for me.0

What both at once ??0

The FREE one is recommended https://www.bitdefender.co.uk/solutions/free.htmlBitdefender Antivirus Plus 20190 -
I got an email today from Bitdefender advising that it was going to auto-renew at £30. I like Bitdefender, but don't like paying over the odds, so I logged onto my account to cancel auto-renewal, and a pop-up appeared, advising they'd drop the price to £20.99 if I retained it.
Just saved nearly a tenner. :-DUsed to work for the Halifax; now works for another bank. Any comments are my opinion or suggestion, not a recommendation!0
