Car oil change ?

It was YOU being sarcastic, I was just making it clear to OP.
If you're referring to Lee's very first post then it was perfectly acceptable. Asking if they've checked the dipstick or not, saying that with the light being on it'll likely take more than 1 litre of oil before it hits max on the dipstick and that they need to look in to why it got that low - maybe they don't check fluid levels, maybe there's a leak that needs sorting, who knows. Perfectly acceptable response. What makes you think they are female, in another thread they were asking about shaving cream saying they have sensitive skin.
I love when people (had one recently) go back months digging on my posts to highlight something to use against me (usually the employment forum - an angry bunch of people).
Ok i'm the one who uses this account most of the time but i do let other family members use it from time to time when they need to find something out.

Is the lamp a level or pressure warning?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Then investigate why it had got so low.
why do you need to fill up untill it is at the max level?
I would say that is bad practice with many of today engines especially diesel engines, a point half way between the max and the min would be what i would be looking for on the dipstick
they always used to say fill to max but if you have a diesel engine that has an aborted DPF regen that dumps diesel into the oil if it is already at max it immediately becomes overfilled and do this a couple of times and you could be in the danger zone
running an engine that is overfilled is just as bad as running an engine under filled0 -
Sometimes posters bemoan the fact that OP's doesn't cm back and update but look at this thread and ask Would you?
Some rudeish replies plus a spat between a couple of posters about who is being sarcastic.
If the light has come on that's serious (I thought it was pressure not amount of oil) so don't drive it until resolved.
1 litre may well not be enough if it had little oil so get some ore and fill but not overfill.
If the light does not then go out call a garage.
For the future check this and other things like tyres regularly. Put a reminder in your electronic or paper diary to do so.0 -

Why do you need to get up in the morning? Why do you need to breathe?
Luckily my diesel doesn't have a DPF so I can happily fill mine to the max line. Also extends the time between the next fill.0 -

My car oil engine light is on. I checked the dip stick and there was only a few ml of oil on it. I put a litre of oil on. Still the engine light is on.
It's either really low and I need to put more in. Or would I need to take it to garage and get it changed ?
What do u recommend?
Does it look like this?
That means there is no oil pressure, probably as a result of the fact you've never checked the oil and its been running around well below the empty mark on the dipstick so now the engine is knackered. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
