^ Getting the first 2 volumes (15 or 16 episodes) of Death Note for £17 is excellent value for money. Mangle have been using the Viz subtitles for their Bleach and Death Note releases, meaning the quality should be near identical to the R1 releases.
Anyway, I finally got a Find-DVD email with an actual bargain:
Zone of the Enders Collection (7 DVD) - £15.89
And...
Samurai X Complete Collection (4 DVD) - £15.89
I highly recommend Samurai X - The OVA is beautiful. The set linked to above is the deluxe re-release.
Also, SecondSpin have a 3 day 20% AND free international shipping code working again: 2PLUS74. Although all their DVDs are 2nd-hand, all but 2/18 I've received have been mint.
Here's an example of the anime bargains you can get: Fafner Vol. 1 & 2 for $4.87 and $5.47 respectively (not counting the 20% off).0 -
Bleach: Season 1 (5 DVD) - £18.97
Death Note: Vol. 1 (2 DVD) - £6.97 + Avoidable Amazon P&P
Both of these are very tempting. The only reasons I'm not going to is that Manga releases never seem to disappear and always get cheaper.0 -
The other problem is that Bleach is now at what seems like episode 1 billion! (I think it is about 250 ish). If you want the series, there will be some serious investment in the future!0

It's simpler to only buy the first 65-70 episodes. The fillers hit for a full year after the Soul Society arc, the proper story resuming after around EP100, and the art/animation quality dropped by a large amount by the time the story resumed.
The series won't be too expensive on our shores thanks to Manga being by far the cheapest anime distributor in the UK and Manga liking to release box sets on a regular basis. It's all looking rosy since Manga now haven't !!!!ed up the subtitles on their releases for awhile.0 -

I highly recommend Tsukihime, it's a very good series and well worth owing for £9.
Here are links to the Tsukihime DVDs:
Tsukihime: Vol. 1
Tsukihime: Vol. 2

Long time no post, eh?
This post is going to link to something new - Manga bargains. We've had sod all in the way of the anime for a long time now and this thread needs something new to spice it up.
Here's the post I posted elsewhere with the bargain:Myself wrote:There I was, sitting thinking about the reason for existence naked and searching on eBay at 4 AM, when I remembered I hadn't checked if The Book Depository had got any of the 3 box sets mentioned earlier available for order. I opened up up my bookmarks, scrolling slowly past the 100 or so untidy bookmarks I've built up over the years, finally reaching the bottom after a test of my endurance. When I clicked the link you can imagine my surprise to see they had both a price and the Naruto set in-stock (in-stock on site but, going on the order confirmation email, they're waiting for stock), the price being a very pleasing £60. I ordered.
I did enter into eBay mathematics mode before ordering. Ignoring the fact you get a wondrous box/bag thing, it works at around £2.23 per volume for £60...and it obviously works out to be an even greater deal if you're a fan of the wondrous box/bag thing. The value will also be improved further for me by the delivery firm TBP use, who will most likely have a lot of employees who enjoy the odd rugby game with heavy objects. But whichever way you look at it, it's stunning value for money - It's $110 on Amazon.com, so...
Here be thy link: Naruto Vol. 1-27 for £60, with free blow up Sakura doll!!!
And, by the way way, if TBP turn out to be a company run by the nimrod elite I'm holding all the *bleep* on here who recommended them personally responsible. -___-
On a related note, there are 2 other manga box sets coming out: Death Note 1-13 and Bleach 1-21. Amazon currently have the DN set for £45, which is very reasonable for the comlete collection with a box/bag thing.0 -
Oooh, Manga bargains. Anything for Ghost Hunt would be good. Is there a good site for comparison? Like Find-DVD?0
