Anime Bargains

First of all, I'd just like to point out that I have NO connection to this guy. I saw a bargain and I'm posting about it - That's all.
Link: Gasaraki Vol. 1-8, R2, Sealed - £14.44
For the lazy, that works out at around £1.80 per DVD. Although that's bargaintastic anyway, when you consider that these DVD's are now unavailable new over here it's even better.
So far, the guy has received 20 positive feedback for selling this very same auction and no negative feedback whatsoever. This means he does indeed (for some bizarre reason) have the remaining UK sealed stock of Garasaki DVD's and is (for an even more bizarre reason) selling them cheaply.
I've been watching his auctions for awhile and finally convinced myself it wasn't a scam yesterday, winning one the sets for myself. I'll let you know how it goes.
Anyway, here are some reviews of the series: http://www.animecritic.com/_metareview/viewtitle.php?aid=150 -
Not a bad find that, albeit it is ebay, and i VOWED never to use it again!
Might just get this, anyhoo, DVD.co.uk came through no problem.
But only got odds and sodds. The odd battle vixen volume, which looks more like soft core !!!!!! than anything else. Got Vol.1 of Samurai Champloo, which I love, had a taster disc the other month. Wish I had all of them though. I am still waiting on my FMP to arrive, although there was a !!!! up with payments.
Also, got a little surprise on monday, parcel arrived, it was "RahXephon The Movie" which I had ordered from ADV a good four months ago! Can you believe that!
Oh well, back to the hunt me thinks...0 -

I am hoping mine turns up today. I like freebies too! But knowing my luck, nothing will be in it!
Going to have a little hunt through ebay, might be able to spot a few more bargains!0 -

My brother and I are big fans of the anime studio CLAMP. Angelic Layer is fantastic, and Cardcaptors, which is meant for a slightly younger audience. They're both series meant for children, but I know a lot of people my age who watch them, and we're in our 20's.
They're anime but not in the same genre as the Ghibli films - they're sort of like girly, intelligent versions of series like Gladiators or Pokemon.
As regards Ghibli films, Princess Mononoke and My Neighbour Totoro are both excellent. Some of their films (Pom Poko springs to mind) have some adult jokes in them, though I think that one's PG-rated while the rest are generally U.0 -
Just so you guys know, someone on another forum has said 4CheapCDs still haven't refunded them for the £1 anime cancellations. It be worth checking your statement online or phoning up your CC.kissmekate wrote: »Hi

Shoot the child or stop damaging the brain of your child.
Seriously, those are 2 of the most over-rated films I've had the pleasure of watching. Princess Mononoke and Grave of the Fireflies (she's too young for it) are excellent Ghibili films - Let her watch Princess Mononoke.
I'm not quite frankly sure what a little girl would enjoy watching, being a guy and all. If she happens to be a tomboy then let her watch Naruto or Bleach; they're both in the shounen genre and shounen translates into young boy.
The only truly girly (as in, romance) series I've watched is one I'm currently viewing - His and Her Circumstances; a show from 1998 with near to no budget. It's probably a bit above her, being aimed at teens-adults, but it is a girly series due to the romance.0 -
