This is not necessarily a bargain, but I think it is pretty good:

There are lots of DVD rental places on the internet such as LoveFilm and Blockbuster. I use both and find that they have a good selection of anime. If you want to go this route then I highly reccomend Blockbuster as it has an extremely large selection of Anime titles, is very quick and also allows you to have them sent in order of series (1-2-3-4-5-6-7 not 7-3-5-6-1-5 etc). This is veyr good as no other place does this from what I can see. I might have some free trial numbers knocking about, PM me if you want them.

    I don't know anything about anime(yet)

i just paid 10p for a 5 dvd set of something called salaryman kintaro at a bookworld clearance. (that store is remaining open under different ownership)
is it so bad that they have to give it away?

Salaryman Kintaro is old and no-one wants to buy it. No idea if it's crap, but it certainly isn't popular.

    Hi,

unfortunately due to a pricing and stock issue with our supplier, we have had to cancel and refund all of your recent orders that were priced at £1.00. The reasons are that firstly these were priced incorrectly and secondly, our supplier no longer stocks these items.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and have now cancelled and refunded your orders.

    Thanks for shopping with 4CheapCDs.

    Kind Regards
    John

I'm glad I double ordered a fair amount of the stuff now... I'm hoping DVD.co.uk honour my order.

I will be upset though if it does, watched everything I got from ADV now!

Salary Man Kintaro btw is okay, nothing special, only sub so if you want dub then you wont get it! For 10p worth it!

    Last message today, promise!

I am having an argument with "John" from 4cheap. I dont know why, bored at work I guess. Anyhoo. I am more anonyed at the fact that I recieved a statement from him saying he is getting the site sorted and at the very same time find-dvd.co.uk informs me they have dropped more prices of their dvd's! Something very perculiar indeed!

    Hi,
all of these discounted products have since been removed frm the site, updates will take place after 5pm tonight will will remove these products from sale.
We must advise that firstly we don't need to list incorrect prices to get sales, secondly what could we gain from selling DVD stock at £1.00 that is out of stock and that we need to refund as we can't supply. We don't have time to be playing games like this.
We're sorry you feel this way, it was an honest mistake which was resolved as soon as it could be.
    Kind Regards
    John

As I recieved this email the notification came through from Find-DVD.co.uk that 5 or so discs had been reduced to £1!

DVD.co.uk have honoured all my orders: I received an email saying they're going to be dispatching them shortly. :D

That reminds me; I need to re-add all the £1 DVD's to my Find-DVD watchlist...

Oh, and did anyone else order the Hellsing box set for £9 from store4dvd, only for them to INSTANTLY cancel? Seemed a bit suspicious when they take funds when you place your order...

Same here, DVD.co.uk are in "despatch". Woop!

Adding all that back to the watch list is painfull, grrr. Did it all last week!

    Store4DVD sounds a bit suspicious.

What DVD's did you manage to order from dvd.co.uk? I recall you saying you hadn't ordered many.

I'm told the delivery today went like this:

    Parcel bloke: Daniel R*****?
    Parent: Yes.
Parcel bloke: *puts one finger up* Wait one moment. *runs off to van.*
Parcel bloke: *comes back to door, holding a tray with 7 parcels*
Parent: Erm, are you sure you have the right address?
Parcel bloke: Yes! Daniel R*****, look *puts parcel up to parents face*
Parcel bloke: *walks in house, putting each parcel on the stairs*

To cut a long story short, all 23 of the DVD's order from dvd.co.uk arrived (in 5 parcels), together with my FMP set from Amazon and A Perfect World from HMV.

The ONLY issue with any of the DVD's was that the disc holder of Tsukihime had been smashed, meaning I had to replace the case. Not going to complain when each DVD cost £1.95!

I now have the complete Samurai 7 collection (already had Vol. 1 & 6),the complete Tsukime collection, the FMP collection and a hell of a lot of other DVD's. I official have WAY too much anime. :suicide:
