  • Sangie. There are two people wishing to actually engage and offering advice. You're an idiot or a troll and I'm bored of you.

When you've worked out whether the law is black and white on the issue and no legal dilemma exists, let me know though. Bye bye.
  • Sangie. You're having a breakdown and it's ugly.

Your words of wisdom were so intensely erudite that they will resonate down the ages, I assure you. Now if you don't mind, I shall engage with those who aren't wilfully obtuse.
  • Positive. I have asked for clarity and yes, a month in hand. I used to work for carphone warehouse, many moons ago, and it was a month in hand there too. Whilst a minority of cases it is certainly not uncommon. And is wholly immoral. But working is a bigger issue. In this neck of the woods, there aren't exactly many jobs going (I do not live in a city or close to one), And the question still remains as to whether the DWP will know I have started job before I get my first payment

Well that's a first .....I have never heard of that set up.

In any event the answer is the same - you'd be committing benefit fraud if you didn't sign off....the question you have to ask yourself is do you want to take the chance ?

Look I know Sangie knows & (I suspect) you know you'd be committing benefit fraud if you didn't tell them.

I'm not going to give you an answer you want to hear any more than the next person.

Politeness costs nothing you know even to the person who is giving the information you don't want to hear
  • Sangie is wilfully missing the point, and he/she is also make assumptions about my situation, without the relevant information to make such an assumption, in a way that you are not. You have not told me anything different from Sangie but you have put aside your assumptions ("get another job". You seen how many jobs are here in Talbot?). What an idiotic statement.

So yes, I appreciate your advice in a way that I do not appreciate a troll's.

It is illegal, I know. The question of whther DWP knows I have a job before I am paid has still not been answered. Any moral judgement on any persons part here is wholly irrelevant to me. Couldn't care less. I just want that question answered.

It is illegal and yes - HMRC live updating will tell them. How many more ways of explaining that do you want? Your question has been answered. Repeatedly. You want someone to tell you that it'll be ok to commit benefit fraud and you will get away with it. That isn't going to happen.

And it's amusing that you think experienced posters are trolls when your sole posts relate to asking people if it would be ok to lie and commit fraud. So who's the troll here?
  • Sangie. You're offering nothing but stating the obvious (again) and everybody is very much in awe. I assure to you.

I will not be responding to any more trolls this evening. But you do take care. God bless you, and may you stay very much entertained on all forums.
  • For the love of all that is holy.

You've been told yes they will know, you've been that it's illegal to do what you're proposing and you've been told to speak to your job adviser as UC is handled differently to JSA (something I didn't know)

You know it's illegal so why run the risk of being caught? Surely your energies would be better spent working towards a solution?

I'd love to know who your new employer is if only to make a mental note never to apply to them for a job as I can't believe that the scenario youve described is correct
  • I'm running the risk because otherwise I do not get work. It isn't London down these ways. There are tons of full time employment going. It's rather simple as to why a human being might risk it in order that he can gain the dignity of work.

There is very little empathy on here. And that is quite different from this behaviour (necessary in my opinion) being condoned.
  • But if you could think of a better solution in an environment where you have no means of transport, you have shoddy transport links, very very few jobs going, few qualifications, then I am certainly all ears??

As I suppose no "better solution" is forthcoming, it looks like I might have to "risk" starting this new job, and doing everything in my power to ensure that I am not crippled by the system, I guess... Or is this bizarre and utterly irrational?
