It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Sometimes you have to go the long way round to get to the right place - being there for DD to ensure her health is as well provided for as possible is a brave choice because you know it will be hard for you in terms of you always being the one on call, not having the freedoms and status of a job outside the house and having a little less to bolster your own mental health. However, that said - I hope that I would have had the strength to make the same decision if I were in your place. She has the security of knowing you are always there for her, and your depth of knowledge of her means you are likely to pick up on any worrying symptoms early and so reduce the stresses on her. In the long term she may well be a stronger little girl because you are with her, and that will give you more leeway later on.
Anyhow... hope you've had some rest after yesterday and that today goes well.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Glad the work thing is sorted out WF. It sounds like the right decision and great that you will have a job to go to in 12 months time!
Childcare is one of the most stressful things we have to deal with too, and we don't have health issues to contend with. Don't worry about what others think, your family is what matters."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". You have a right to do whatever is best for you and your family whatever anyone else says. The fact you've negotiated a compromise with work and childcare is a success in anyone's bookI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Thank you for all your replies, I expected some harsh ones“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0

Well Youngest's bed arrived. It's perfect.
Have sorted some of the things I wanted to organise before smalls back at school. Have swapped cupboards around hoping things just 'work' better.
Painted the ceiling and the first coat of gloss on the woodwork in my bedroom. Decided I need wallpaper before painting the walls (cheaper than a plasterer) so need to save £45 for this. (10 rolls) PA is nearly at £20 though and £1.25 away from cashout on Yougov.
Have got my sister looking on the social media sites for a bed and TV. She knows lots of people too :rotfl: She called in today to drop off some birthday cake :A
Then this afternoon me and youngest snuggled watching TV and both fell asleep :rotfl:
Older two away to bed, they had Curry for dinner with rice and naan bread. Not very healthy there but they enjoyed it!
Tomorrow I need to pop and get a tablecloth and some fresh bits for school lunches. Their Dad will watch small ones I hope that will make it easier and quicker. The rest of tomorrow will be used getting ready for back to school on Monday and planning the weeks appointments and meals and things.
Hope everyone has a good weekend, this post turned into a long one“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -
