Just after I saw your post my son phoned. He’d gone to the local Tesco to buy some things for his Dad who is in a very high risk group. Nothing on the shelves but he did manage to get some milk. Luckily I have quite a well stocked store cupboard so I’ve told him to go to our house and take anything his Dad needs. The alcohol section was completely bare. Not a bottle of anything. This really is madness. And I’m willing to bet that half this stuff will end up being thrown away.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5

That so needs a sad face, Wannabe. It's so important to try to make contact especially for those living alone, but hard if people don't have the internet.
I feel as you do: home is the safest place and I'd rather be there than out in the wider world now. I do hope people keep up livestreaming interesting things, though: we could all get free events and maybe learn a lot.
Love and hugs xx

Last load of washing is on for today. Have cleaned everything we've had out the house. I'm really hoping tomorrow is the last trip out. It's such a chore having to clean everything we've taken out etc. There's been quite a few people we know now self isolating with symptoms. I feel like every day we go out the anxiety increases!

Youngests nurse rang back. We are having some rescue meds delivered as a precaution so we have something extra if needed and a few other things being delivered just incase she needs extra help while waiting for help. Scary but reassuring. She was quite harsh about how strict we need to be with the isolating and how careful we need to be no contact with any friends/family. Don't go to the park etc like those who are social distancing can do. I'm still waiting for the contact from PHE but I'm assuming it will be the same. The stats given don't weigh up any positives if she contacts the virus as she's already classed as someone with chronic respiratory failure. The figures are scary. It's near enough a 100% sure the outcome wouldn't be nice. It felt quite harsh how blunt these where given. I guess it's needed though and that's their job to make sure people take it seriously.
I have to go out tomorrow to do the pawn shop and the bank. This does mean using public transport too. But after this we will be following the rules and staying away from everyone and everything. We are lucky we have a garden we can use and we are okay with each others company. Not sure how we will feel months down the line about that ha!

Is there any way you can avoid going out? You have been isolated for a week already and if you can avoid going to the bank that is probably the best given all the warnings. Have you got a bank account that would allow you to set up a mobile service on your phone? I hate using mine but it can be useful at times. Do any of the measures announced yesterday help moneywise? I think if you phoned some of the people you need to pay they would give you extra time in the circumstances. Take care of yourselves x7

I would also suggest contacting who you need to pay and explain the situation. Surely they will understand. You really shouldn't be going out. I hope DD manages to stay well, no wonder you're worried. Take care xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Absolutely agree. I’m sure councils and utility companies will have been told to expect this. Lots of over 70s usually pay their bills at the post office and won’t be able to go out. Please give them a phone and explain your circumstances. To be honest they can’t really say no.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7

I agree Wannabe. Please don't go out. They are going to stop people being evicted for late rent payments, so just stop paying your bills if need be.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
