    Afternoon

So sorry for the silence again :o I've been keeping busy to try and get back on top of the MH issues. Still struggling.

We haven't sat still. We had some pretty big appointments and we are focusing on making as many happy memories as possible. This means we made the most of the amazing weather and spent a lot of time at the local parks with picnics and on some of the days we met with school friends.

I really appreciate you all stopping in and I'm sorry again for the silence. I will be back more often now

I got the first payment of UC. It was slightly less than I had worked out as the rent amount is worked out differently. Nothing too major though.

    It looks like this

    Outgoing
    Rent £480.55 (Paid)
    Council Tax £85.40 (Paid)
    Water £49.40 (Paid)
    Gas/Electric £140 (Paid)
    Phone Credit £10 (Paid)
    Bus Pass £54 (Paid)
    Tv License £12.56 (Paid)
    School snack £15
School 'other' £25 (this and the snack one has gone on coats for all 3 of them)
Travel £25 (this has already been spent on the big appointments last week and over budget :o)
Food/everything else £100 (this is £69 for this month as the travel has eaten into it and the difference in rent amount) there is £40 left as food shop happened on Friday as we where very desperate for food)

Debt for rent arrears hasn't received a payment.

    Current bank balance £41.44

All the bills are paid until the 25th when I receive money again. Bank balance will cover the food/everything else budget. Rest of the uniform will come from the budget on the 25th August.

Glad to hear you've been enjoying the weather, and hopefully now you have UC coming in you'll be able to settle into a routine with the budget. You don't have to come on and update us, but we're here for you if you need anything - and it's always good to hear what you're up anyway :)

Hi WB :) It's lovely to hear from you and it sounds like you've had a lovely start to the holidays.

Glad the UC came through as expected. Was the slight difference a one off or is that the figure you'll get every month. I know you said getting it monthly should make budgeting a lot easier so I hope that's the case.

I was watching a programme recently about the cost of school uniform and the impact it has on family finance. I think uniform is good but I really don't think there's any need for logo's, especially when it comes to PE kit. I'm old enough not to have worn any uniform at primary but even at secondary it was just a blue skirt, blue jumper and white shirt which you could buy from anywhere. And we made our PE skirts in sewing class :D

Hope the weather eases off so you can get out and about next week. xx

Good news the UC has finally started and that you've been able to take advantage of the lovely weather. Sorry to hear you've been struggling with MH issues again, I don't suppose the uncertainty over finances helps. Hopefully you'll be able to settle into a routine with the budget and it will be one less thing to worry about.

    Take care xx

Beanie ours were bright red wrap overs which incorporated machine sewn seams, hemming by hand and a buttonhole which was the stuff of nightmares lol. It was the only one we ever made and looking back I've no idea how they fitted us all from 11-16 but they did :rotfl: xx
