“Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.”

Monday again
First of the holidays
We have no plans so I'm not sure what we will do. The weather is supposed to be good but it doesn't look so promising yet.
My old landlord randomly got in touch yesterday about an house he's putting up to rent at the end of the month. He remembered last time we spoke I wanted to move back over to the 'nicer' side of the main road. I know I can't do it but thought it was so nice him remembering.
Hope you all have a lovely day

Morning WB
Well, you learn something new every day. I've never in my 50+ years heard of the fizzy pop thing.
That was nice of your ex landlord to think of youIf it's private rental though you're probably more secure where you are, which for now might be worth more to your peace of mind than the area.
It does look like it's going to be one of those days where the weather can't decide what to do which isn't helpful for planning anything. I'm sure you'll come up with something though. Have a lovely day. xx0 -
I might have to try the fizzy pop thing too!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

You can also use the water from a can of chickpeas instead of eggs in recipes. It’s called Aquafaba.
Hope you’re feeling more positive soon xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Thank you greenbee and beanie
Tea 300ml of fizzy pop replaces all 'wet ingredients' so for me the butter and eggs.

Thank you for your replies
I definitely wouldn't move back to private rent as the uncertainty makes me worry. But it was nice he thought of me even after all this time.
PB that's why I did it originally when youngest was smaller her allergies where a lot worse than now so we where all dairy/egg/soya/legume and nut free. Quite a lot of what we bake/eat now still is
However we didn't bake today as it's been really hot! We spent it at the park playing and took a sort of picnic.
Tonight's been dramatic with the neighbour and I ended up arguing backI feel so disappointed in myself. But nothing I can do now. There's only so much someone can take and it's crossed that line on so many occasions and I've not said anything.
Anyway smalls in bed. House clean and garden clean. So shower and bedtime for me.
I am miles behind on everyone's diary. I need to catch up but I hope you're all well

That must have been a very tricky diet to keep to, but I understand allergies are getting more common, so there are more 'alternative' products available. You probably know all sort of tips for exchanging foods.
I'm sorry you had a problem with the neighbour though it sounds as though you have been having issues with them for a while and lots of people wouldn't have your self control to keep quiet over a longer time. Hopefully it will all settle down now.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Things like that really upset me too. Luckily I have lovely neighbours here but I've had some not so nice, selfish ones in other places I've stayed. Sometimes you just have to stand your ground if they are being unreasonable.
It's supposed to be hot today but it's overcast at the moment. Think it might get very sticky and muggy.
Have a good day, xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -

Hope you and the DC's have had a nice day and the little ones aren't struggling to sleep in this heat.
There's a fine line between letting things go and people thinking they can always get away with things. Sometimes you just have to stand your ground even if it's not really in your nature.xx
